  1. This thing is awesome. These trucks are so much fun. It's really exciting seeing three slammed trucks from this era going together at the same time on here. I wish I had a cab for mine, I'd join the fun.
  2. Well, my friend, guess you are...stuck. (sorry had to go there) Ah, it still looks good and you're still learning.
  3. If you installed the front signals and windows with school glue, you are still in luck if you haven't already done your final attachment of the interior to the cab. Just pop out the old glue and make those changes if you would like. If you don't already know, school glue (Elmer's Glue) is best for windows and lights because it does not make any undo-able ( ) attachments and staining, etching, or otherwise ruining the windows. It is also great because it holds the parts in place, but, not so tightly that you would do damage in removing them. And for what it's worth, even though the white turns clear, I personally prefer the version that is clear in the bottle. Opinions of others may vary. As you can see by our comments, you are progressing nicely and seem to be a natural at the hobby. I hope all our comments and suggestions make you progressively confident, educated, and skilled. I see a bright future for you in all this.
  4. Since you are asking about mirrors, I figured I would throw in two cents. With all the chrome changed to white, it seems that you are going for a more base model look. I would suggest taking off the door handles and stripping them along with the driver side mirror only. Paint them all white, foil the mirror lense and you will have the full basic look. Whatever you decide, its looking good. Aparently the strene addiction has hit hard and strong with you.
  5. Harry, this would have been a good one for Real or Model. I was thinking it was just an exceptional model because I didn't see any valve stems. I never really thought it was an actual kit though. I was suspect of that poor quality of print on the word "Airplane". It looks like someone did it in Microsoft Paint.
  6. That car is just cool. At that kind of power, I don't think it has to be the fastest to still be dang impressive. One thing is for sure though. Unless they are the world's most unlucky person, I guarantee whoever drives it would never roll up on someone who couldn't beat it red light to red light. (Not condoning it...just sayin'. )
  7. If Snoopy were a semi instead of a Beagle...maybe this would be a swoopy Snoopy! It has tinted glass to represent his "Joe Cool" sunglasses and all. In all seriousness, there is no way someone could look at those wing things (if that is even a term) without thinking of Snoopy's ears.
  8. I like classics, and try to stick to 1/24 and 1/25 but, maybe with Round 2 owning Lindberg, hopefully they start re-releasing some of the S-Series Chevy/GMC trucks again. And on topic, I have been in about five Hobby Lobbys in the past month. They all had the Rat Roaster.
  9. Thanks for sharing that with the group. I have seen the Root Beer look like this before and the red oxide would explain the tone being more red than brown. I kind of thought that but, wasn't 100% sure.
  10. Im pretty sure the car in Fast and Furious was not a V spec II. There is a featurette on the dvd if I am not mistaken. But it has been like two years since I have seen it.
  11. These actually exist. I have seen them in Youtube videos. Search Youtube for "Skyline Ute".
  12. I love all the One Coat paints except Fiery Orange, just because I can never get it to come out right. When used in conjunction with wet look clear, I think they look amazing even without polishing. Are the metal flakes large? Of coarse they are. But honestly, the cans originally came out with flames on them. So, what else would you expect? I love how quickly they dry. And a person has to spray the heck out of it to get it to run. Ease of use and super shiny/flakey make things really encouraging for a novice coming into this hobby as well as someone who just has a hard time with sitting down and polishing out a car by hand.
  13. Hand over the keys. I wanna take a spin. Dang that's nice!
  14. And with black stripes too this time!
  15. I always love these trucks. One thing I might suggest. When stripping chrome, don't sand down the parts. Just throw them in some windex for a bit and the chrome will dissolve right off them. I like to take one of those kids milk or orange juice bottles and fill it a little past the longest chrome part and put a lid on it for about an hour. It works every time and gives you a decent opening to insert parts. Just run some cold water over them with an old toothbrush to get the residue off and you are done.
  16. I have Dish and naturally, Speed is no longer on my favorite channels. Ironically, I don't have either of these Fox replacements on the list in its place. I miss Speed in it's time. But hey, on the bright side, we don't have to listen to Will Castro talk about having Remy put two JL Audios in a rectangle speaker box in every single car on every single day anymore! I used to bang my head when I saw those crummy boxes going into such nice cars.
  17. I've never seen one of these. I like it a lot!
  18. That thing just looks ominous sitting there. The mere fact that it has a luggage rack on top creeps me out for some unknown reason. I am a little uneducated about Craig's List though. Why would this be "flagged for removal"? Is that Craig's List's way of saying it is sold or censorship or some kind?
  19. I think a lot of people aren't taking into consideration that he has a total of $10K in the whole car. I can imagine that there were a lot of different tools and machines he had to gain access to. And if he only had a budget of $10K, I would think those tools mostly belong to someone else. Under the circumstances, I think he did well. As far as the quality work, this just may be the best he could do. At least he got the thing to hold together so that it's not a danger to everyone on the road. He sure drives better than the guy in the van on that video. He almost took out that pedistrian.
  20. This is one cool bird. You did a really great job on it. I just picked one up myself.
  21. With the color and wheels, this thing looks like it peeled rubber right out of the 70s. It is always nice to see one built like this. Leaving off the spoilers was the right thing to do here as well. You sure have captured the spirit of this car in it's day.
  22. Nice Merc. I agree it's hard to do just one. I've done two and I think I'm gonna get more as well. These things are addictive. They're fun to build and practially fall together.
  23. I usually get a craft saw and lay the back edge against the car door and saw along the bottom edge of the door handle. I try to leave just a little of the door handle so I dont get too close. Then I block sand off the additional material. Im sure the tape or marker methods could easily apply to what I do as well. i just live a little wrecklessly.

Thanks guys. I am thinking of going back and foiling the chrome strip down the side now. But I think I am pretty dead set on leaving the window moldings silver. I agree with the comments on the shody pics. I was in a hurry when I took them and didn't take time to make em right. I think I am going to take Ben's advice and set up some white poster board and do so in a brighter room. Thanks for all the comments and constructive criticism. Feels good not to get ripped to shreds lol.
