What types of plastics can I use?
Skydime replied to clovis's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I use those non-embossed credit card, value card, or whatever they are things I get in the mail. Depleted store gift cards are a help too. I glue them with superglue. (CA glue, as it is often called in the hobby). These can be used for a number of things including cowl hoods, roll pans, window delete panels, and all kinds of things. These should work and, aside from glue, are absolutely free. So, if you mess them up, who cares? Just wait for more to come in your junk mail. -
Man, that thing looks sharp!

van builds finished or wip

Here's my Vantom Fantom whatever the latest release is by Round 2. I had a laid out suspension built for the Dirty Donnie van but, it got stepped on. So, I trimmed the rear of the floor pan and slid it under this because the kit suspension and pan looked like more work than I wanted to put into this one. It still needs a little work. -
Im pretty sure the next one is leading into the Tokyo Drift time line.

Dang it! Now you're makin' me want to pull mine out of my junkyard kits and build it. Pretty neat idea there. -
Well, if you didn't notice, APC went out of business not long after Robert Cohn too. And I never EVER in my entire life heard someone call it "noss" until this movie. It was always N.O.S., because of the brand, or nitrous. And oh yeah, you forgot to mention that Hector is going to be running 3 Civics with Spoon engines and "Motek System Exhausts" instead of Motek exhaust systems.

Cool. I didn't even realize this was in California Wheels now. Any definite colors planned yet? -

That smooth inner bed looks killer! Just an FYI that you may wanna throw around here based upon what I did to my 1:1 S10. This may save you some time on frame fabbing so you could just throw in a notch. I raised my bed floor 4 inches via body drop and then I put a 4 inch lift spacer kit on the bed. This essentially raised the bed floor while keeping the bedsides at stock height to align with the cab. I did not want to body drop the cab of a truck with 60K miles on it. With that already smooth inner bed, you could put in a raised smooth floor and some smooth mini tubs over the tires and it would look really slick! Add in some spacers between the bed floor and frame. step notch it, add a filler panel at the back of the bed floor, and everything would be all good. -

I am not a fan of Ford at all. However, it's cool to watch ANYTHING get built in styrene...especially when someone is this determined to make the kit what it should have been out of the box. And not to mention that the Fox body coupes do look pretty sweet. Anyway, it would not surprise me that if you got this casted, and went through Ford for licensing to avoid any possible legal woahs, this could possibly be one of the best selling resin bodies of all time. With that being said...resin cast or not, this is one fine build you have going on here. Mike, I can't wait to see it under glass. Heck, you might have even sold me on this kit after what I have seen you do on it. -
Great job on this one Dante! James, you think this kit is bad? I had both the Momogram hard top and convertible when it came out too. Ugh!

I get various items at the Dollar Tree and Walmart. Of coarse, though hobby stores are over an hour from me, I am lucky enough to have two Walmarts and a Magic Mart that sell kits. The Dollar Tree is a good place to buy degreaser and plastic shoe boxes...among other doo dads for models. Although I am pretty upset my closest Dollar Tree quit carrying the large non-spray bottle of LAs Totally Awesome degreaser.

I have always hated many aspects of the several variations of this kit. On the other hand, I've always loved what people do with this kit. Despite it's drawbacks, it usually builds quite well. Great job on this one. I actually love the fact that you didn't do the chrome strip between the bed and cab. I think it just ruins the look on the 1:1. -
Tire/wheel storage options?

That's what I have. Work great! -
Edit- Oh nevermind. That comment is gone now. Edit 2- And I went to edit my post and I ended up quoting myself. Getting out of this thread while I am ahead.

Wow! I was going to laugh with Glenn on that last comment but, I wasn't allowed to quote the text. This thread gets stranger by the minute.

They sure make the dough so, why not make it into bread? They also have wine. Please note NOT condoning or condeming drinking here.
