  1. Glad to see someone else open up the front end on this kit. It really makes a world of difference!
  2. I read the forum on and off round the clock. I am amazed on how I never cease to find new corners of this forum. "How To" is really a great section.
  3. Chuck's pic indicates his 82 was a Scooter but, the TOP half of the dash appears to have been blue on his.
  4. Absolute insanity! Very nice!
  5. That blue sure does bring back memories of my mom's! Chuck, what in the world is in the floor? Looks like a bag of trail mix exploded.
  6. Looks good even without the lights. Good thing you left off the decals because it is really a Hugger. I'd love to see Round 2 re-release this with either the 98 up interior and front end or correctly label the box as a "Hugger concept" instead of an Xtreme.
  7. Alright! Woo hoo! I can't wait. Been hoping for this from day one. Oh, incidentally, my dad's 77 (I had been thinking 76 for some reason) had chrome bumpers without rubber. But it wasn't a Scooter even though it was stripped down. However, his was the older front end with round headlights. My moms was an 84 and hers had this front end and wrap around tail lights. This kit must of been a transitional period between the two styles.
  8. Very nice! Looks like you're going all out on this one.
  9. Good looking build. I'd definite add the spotlight and either the light bar or a push bar on the front.
  10. That's a very nice build there Chuck. Did you make some sort of change to the Impala wheels? They look more billet than chrome. That's a very good thing in my book!
  11. Brad, you have a mini truck, you get a free pass on that one. I guess that was just a half conscious rant on how there are people who really give us mini truckers a hard time. The lowrider thing is more of a pet peive (SP?). It's just that, I've alays felt mini trucks are a certain niche that you either get or don't get. And the attendees usually get it. I don't know how I got so far off topic. But my real gripe, that inspired me to chime in is when people ask me why anyone would ever want to do that to a perfectly good work truck.
  12. It wasn't me, I was gonna go try to find mine at my parents' house. That was a very nice gesture though. The fact that someone would randomly do that for you says just as much about you as the person that sent it.
  13. Here are a couple things I hear a lot at mini truck shows. Most mini truckers ride into a show with either the front of our truck up or the entire thing lifted off the ground. When we pull in, we generally find a good spot, hit the switches, and dump all the air out of the airbags. There's usually at least one that calls them "lowrider trucks" and immediately AFTER hearing the air dump, ask if they have hydros. There is quite a bit of difference in lowrider and mini truck style. Yes, some mini trucks have hydros. Yes, some small trucks are done lowrider style. But seriously, what do they think that big long "psst" they just heard is? A blow off valve?
  14. Nice start on this build. I've gotta ask, do you know if the 1:1 has it's original frame or an S10 longbed frame modified? It would be cool to see someone take a Revellogram S10/Syclone kit and stretch the frame to use with one of these.
  15. Ive also seen members use small strips of this as seat belts and I have also seen it used as headliner material. Good Tip!
  16. I don't have Facebook to officially vote there. But, if Aoshima is reading the forum...put my vote in for Tom D Ruijter!
  17. Sign me up! 80 hours a week plus the honey-do list are getting old fast!
  18. One of the companies I work with uses a lot of things related to Google. I express my disgust with this at every opportunity. I always log out of everything when logging into evilbay. I even use my nonpreferred browser of IE there.
  19. Dang it! Now you got me thinking of doing something similar to this one too. New Camaro mirrors, die cast wheels from the parts box, a mild drop, some mini tubs, 08 Challenger Hemi I got laying around, and some minor shaving including that wing. My 87 S10 Blazer had one of those and the first thing I did was go to the junkyard and get a set of rear window hinges without wing mounts.
  20. Actually, the "Restomod" version had something similar to Cragar 398 Chrome Soft 8. Being a "restomod" you would think that it would have provisions for lowering (at least the front) a bit more. That version also had a set of racing seats but, I can't remember if they were Recarro, Sparco, no name or what. Nevertheless, plan on picking up a couple of the Grumpy's Toy issue and a couple cowl hoods from ebay.
  21. Shane that looks terrific. Glad to see you made it through the whole repaint ordeal with it and got it together. Those of us that watched the build know the flames are there. But for those that didn't they are gonna see a big difference with it out in the sun. Great build whether the pics show them or not though!
  22. I like this van a lot. Nothing to me like the old boxy style vans. IMHO opinion, these look so much better than these new tall narrow vans that look like a firm gust of wind would blow them right over.
  23. This turned out great!
  24. There actually was a Ute version. I think that may have been in Brazil. (?) Here in America, I knew people who cut the body at the back of the doors and added the back of the cab and bed from Chevy Luv trucks to make "Cheluvs" out of US market Chevettes. I wish I had some pictures of them. Yahoo, Bing, and Google seem to be completely devoid of their existance.
