Testors vs lindberg 2006 srt8 chargers
Skydime replied to cotto's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
It's definitely not odd for one company to brand products made by a different company. I pulled the "Bose" premium speakers out of my old Camaro only to find they were just the same old Delco speakers with a Bose sticker on them. A company wants to get into a market, licenses their name on someone else's product, and they have an instant line of merchandise. -
You've got a start on what could be something great there. One suggestion though, you might want to use a filler for models instead of bondo because it can actually melt into the plastic as it hardens. If I were going to resort to 1:1 body filler, I wouldn't go any further than spot putty.

There ya go Richie.

I somehow missed this one getting done...absolute insane amount of modification and it certainly paid off. I can't even describe how good it looks right now.
-
That's a very nicely detailed motor in that thing. I like it because it has the "bells and whistles" of a detail job under the hood but, looks real enough to show what it would look like if used to race.
-
My head hurts just think of this in 1:1. Although I don't know if it would hurt worse from the rumble of the motor or hitting it on the top of the doorjamb every time I would get in. In other words, it looks killer.
-
Looks like an excellent replica of a daily driven, well maintained '63. It's just like a SoCal cruiser.
-
Hey, whatever floats your boat on your choice of style. I think it came out magnificent as a lowrider. It makes me want to see more like this.
-
This truck is looking great. This reminds me of some of the trucks I used to see when I went to truck shows all the time. Escalade front ends always look good on a Silverado. Sure wish Revell or Round 2 would make a stepside kit for any of the last three body style Silverados. Um, or the last two in any form. LOL
-
I was just wandering if anyone one here has built any of the trucks from the movie Maximum Overdrive. I would assume that the most popular would be the leader with the Green Goblin on the front but, just wandering if anyone has built any of them at all.
-
Stewart, Sorry to hear about your intakes breaking on the prochargers. I'm sure with the skill you are displaying on this one that you'll get them fixed as good as new. That radiator assembly looks crazy good.
-
You've done a great job on this kit. Though I dunno why Revell designed the taillights to mount in such a goofy manner. I hate the lights on mine...wish I still had all of my AMT 64 to borrow from.
-
Interesting take with the black grille and colormatch bumper. A fresh approach that I think is working for it.
-
I remember having this kit years ago. I actually found my grille/front bumper the other day. It's a simple fun kit.
-
Maybe try some shrink wrap of a clear plastic bag to reduce the rubbing. The thickness of either shouldn't be enough to throw off the fit and should give you a little protection.

Let's see your Chevy S10!

Ya know fishing line and alcohol to remove all the others is cheaper right? Just kidding. Good looking almost 100% original truck....and I only say almost just because the bug guard, vent shades, and the bed cover aren't factory. Great Find! -
There was always something beautiful about the Richard Petty STP cars. Keep up the work...end result will look great.

My copy of part Fast and Furious is in my car's dvd player...and the car has a dead battery so, I can't check it. I believe you are referring to Letty's car and I am pretty sure this is a pic for Fast and Furious (4th Installment) http://images.search...umb=bhVCM9x4L6G . I also found a die cast version of this car. http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view;_ylt=A0PDoYB0yYFO_woA8GeJzbkF;_ylu=X3oDMTBlMTQ4cGxyBHNlYwNzcgRzbGsDaW1n?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fp%3DPlymouth%2BHammer%2Broll%26n%3D30%26ei%3Dutf-8%26y%3DSearch%26b%3D1%26tab%3Dorganic&w=480&h=360&imgurl=static.upillar.com%2Fpictures%2Fresources%2F294085%2Fscaled%2FDCP05123.JPG%3F1269092474&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.upillar.com%2Flistings%2F113391&size=30.3+KB&name=upillar.com+|+1970+Plymouth+Hammer+By+GMP+NIB&p=Plymouth+Hammer+roll&oid=a7c80b9e91f4581ef1811780cf237a59&fr2=&fr=&tt=upillar.com+|+1970+Plymouth+Hammer+By+GMP+NIB&b=0&ni=30&no=3&tab=organic&sigr=116ufe15h&sigb=13ack7caa&sigi=12b4v1o3v&.crumb=bhVCM9x4L6G . On topic, this is one finely detailed model of a car that is beautiful in real life.

The GTA Wheels look right at home on this car. Very nice so far.
-
The engine is looking amazing with all those little details.
-
Yeah, I definitely like the tapered idea for the running boards a lot. But it would also be cool to build a second as a duallie with the fat fenders in the back andrunning boards between them too.
-
That's some great work there. She oughta get after that dog for wetting her tire. But the little old lady looks kinda like Popeye with that glass jaw.
-
I think it's pretty cool that you made a model of a car that is on the level of many daily drivers that go to cruise-ins. As for the wheels, I like them because I'm not a big fan of a big side wall without whitewalls...plus they are close to what I have on my truck.
