getting closer... got an update on the interior. the front seats are glued in place. i used aoshima ae86 seats, ae86 shift boot, long shifter and gauge decal for the dash cluster. slapped some decals on the dash. dark blue flocking on rear deck sporting some pioneer ts-x11 speakers.

DATSUN 4X4

man, thats a sweet looking 720..fantastic paint job. the revell 720's are indeed rare and priced high. but aoshima just re-release their version of the 720. it's not lifted though. -
i have the suspension in place, painted chassis details and have laid down some mica silver for the base for hte apple mint color. the interior will be tan with plaid inserts and a pair black recaro seats which will also have the plaid insterts. i printed the plaid pattern on some clear decal sheet, hope it works out..

thanks guys. i did some weathering on the chassis and star. 2nd pic has primered and painted parts for both the celica and a mark2 that im working on as well.

our summer temps here can get up to about 110deg, higher sometimes. so its not as bad as NM or AZ, but it is hot enough to not feel comfy to build. i now build in the garage and well it stays warm even at night. yesterday it was 94deg during the day, at 1am in morning the garage was still around 78deg or so... im gonna have to tough it out i guess if i want to get some projects done...lols put a fan in there something...lols

thanks guys. i know these 2 pics look the same as the ones above. but there is a difference. the stance and ride height is now locked in. no more tweaking needed. all wheels sit flush with the fender arches and yes, they are really flush. i also put some putty on what i hope to be the last of it so i can lay down the mica silver base coat. last night i put the rear suspension components on. later tonight the front goes on and it will be on all fours...lols i just need to paint the details, add some weathering and make a new exhaust. the kit one sucks big time...lols im sure there is a ton of details that could have been added to the suspension parts, but i have no time fore that. so i only painted the sway bar a cusco blue.

thanks guys. a few weeks ago i started to weather up some of the chassis and interior pieces with a quick wash. did the same on the star pipes, dont know if you can see it though. ill be adding some more to it later today. the wheel centers were painted with titanium gold and the taillight lenses were done with tamiya clear red through my airbrush. that was a first for me and well, ill never go back to hand brushing them. too much of a hassle. i also finished the front brakes and sprayed the "carpet" part blue (not pictured). im going to button up the front tonight and flock the carpet on as well. this wednesday night all my plans for doing what i said went out the window when my OCD kicked in...i really hated how the front "cross member" and control arms looked like OOB. so i grabbed one from a fujimi ae86 kit and went to town on it..a few hours later i got what you see in the second pic. bottom is celica OOB part..bland and boring, top is from fujimi ae86 kit. somwhat better detail. looks the part. i started by cutting the oil pan details and skid plate. i also cut off the arms and trimmed them down. then i got some styrene and made some adjustments and voila, i got a better looking cross member and arms. as of last night chassis clearance, check brakes, check

i forgot to add this update. about a month ago i bmf'ed the trim. took a few hours, but it was well worth it. this is more recent. so, i went with a tan color for the interior. i think it'll look good once all in there. on wednesday on shot the frame with alclad gloss black and then last night i shot the chrome...later tonight ill lay down some aqua clear gloss to protect the alclad. oooh shiney...lols
