Paint Strippers - What to Use?
LAone replied to pbj59's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
man, i have used this stuff to remove grease/oil spots from the garage floor and to clean parts as well. never thought of using it for stripping. gonna have to go buy some more...i just got a glue/paint bomb model that i want to save. ill let you know how my experiance goes. -
nice vette, you can feel the nostalgia pouring out of the pipes..

hey tim, shakotan rat, i like that name. im gonna have to use it. i got them from hlj.com when aoshima reissued them. like 5 years ago. they sell out pretty quick and dont get restocked. only new series come out. these guys have some different sets at the moment, but shipping can get a bit pricey so watch for that. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/list/122/0/1 other than that, sometimes ebay has them.

Hey guys, well now that the 510 is done, i have brought back some old builds and started some new ones. but building is slow for me as my wife is almost ready to pop out our 3rd baby.. so days are long and nights are short. i bought this one along with the 510 ten years ago. i took it out of the box and just sanded the body to primer it. but, i have changed a bit since 10 years ago. i noticed some window and lower sill details would get lost once painted. i trimmed and sanded the body down and i added some stripes of styrene on the hood to fill the huge gaps on the sides and rear. i shaved all emblems, holes for wipers and door handles i have the rear where i want it and im working on the front suspension. heres what i want to be at. rear end in place with final positions. tried to get some good shots of the window trim. no before pics though. cant really see the styrene stripes, but they are there along with putty work. so after 9.5 hours of being on this one, i have mainly done body and frame work. i need a bit more work on the hood, hope to have some primer shot on it tomorrow.

thanks dave. i was hoping someone would say that. it was fun building it. i still have 2 more in my stash. i learned plenty from this one though. hope to see yours soon. i have a few things going, but no real progress to post pics. mainly lots of body prep. chris, you can find them on ebay sometimes and when HLJ and hobby search gets them in stock. they sell out quick though. erik, thanks it was my first time weathering, so i wasn't really sure if it was enough or too much.

Scratch Building an Aussie Ford Falcon **New update,15/1/18**
LAone replied to ShawnS's topic in WIP: Model Cars
came out great. are the clear lenses going to be made in clear resin as well or something else? -
great looking build so far. nice choice on the wheel exchange, those other ones are pretty lame looking for such an aggressive body kit. looking forward to more.
-
great looking R32. tamiya's R32 is not a curbside kit. they come with engine detail.
