wow, thats a sweet merc. the paint job is just flawless. one question, would you be able to tell me the size of the blue and red wires that are twisted together?
  11. there they are. everytime i clicked on it, it said "thanks for joining the contest, good luck" i was like wuuuuuuuuuut??
  12. most of the kits i have finished dont need any glue to hold the body to the chassis. the revell 510 im about to finish might need it. but ill use bit of blu tack instead of glue. this way if i choose to change out the wheels, i wont damage the body or chassis.
  13. haha, thats great thats a great way to get them in the hobby. my 4 year old son wanted me to buy that kit for him just for the road runner figure..lols
  14. that is some amazing wood work! but i don't think i'll be looking for another hobby...lols
  15. wooo, it's been a looong time since i've updated this.. been in a slump for building, life, moving, getting sick, wife is pregnant...ect ect...well im now settling down a bit in our new home. randy, sorry for the superduper late reply. the seat belts were left overs from a eduards PE kit. i dont really like them since they dont look real and the paint flakes off when you bend them. so i made new ones as seen down below. these are made from thin bandage tape. the PE set is from detail master.
  16. sweet looking chevelle. i like the overall look on it. the wheels highlight the color nicely. ive been wanting to get some of that micro foil adhesive but always forget to look for it at the LHS. besides some foils look better than bmf.
  17. i dig the mini bro. they are fun little things. i have a buddy with one that he let me drive. looking forward to it with the motorcycle engine in it.
  18. hey jeff, great to see you on here. looking forward to seeing this one done..
  19. as a kid, i didn't get to burn them but i sure crashed them into one another. then came the tyco bandit, i used them to jump over with the bandit. then i decided to use them as the landing pad. as long as i stayed out of trouble, my mom would buy me some more. they were inexpensive snap-tite kits.. now, i buy a display case when im about to finish one and they sit with me at my desk. every now and then i show them to those interested or ones that have just found out that i tinker with models. i also take them to shows/contest(i dont think of it as a contest) and take new pics with new backgrounds. i plan to buy a display case, i just haven't found one i like.
  20. ok, here are pics of my kit. its new as per the rules. i have to dig out my 22R kit from crewdawg. ill be adding a turbo to it. i want it to be a scout truck, so it needs some quickness. found this for inspiration. http://www.tacomaworld.com/gallery/data/500/medium/461uparmouredhilux5fingb1.jpg so ill be hitting the LHS to find some weaponry. any ideas of what to look for would be great. this way i dont walk blindly into a hole in my wallet..lols
  21. hey guys, everyone has some great builds. lots of great details. doc, add me to the list. im digging this a lot and it looks like fun. im gonna do a toyota hilux. it's a curbside kit, but i have a crewdawg 22R engine that i can use for it. it's late or early depending on how you see it. so ill take some pics of the kit later today.
  22. that looks sweet bro. the color matched wheels are at great touch.
  23. erik, i totally dig that hiace. nice finds 5 kits all complete for 40bucks...couldn't pass up on that. picked these two up at the LHS stay tuned for part 2: supplies and other goodies..
  24. haha, no matter how many times it's asked, i have yet to count my stash and post an answer...lols but eventually i will..
