  1. Looks like Eshaver requests we close this thread.
  2. Anyone know where I can find the instructions for this kit?
  3. This is a very educational and worthwhile thread. Looking forward to more!
  4. Let's stick to the topic at hand please.
  5. Very cool...love the googie era!
  6. I was planning on getting an Iwata Neo about 6 months ago, but the reviews I read weren't favorable on some of the airbrush forums. But I am thinking about getting one anyhow.
  7. The knob/screw under the clear water trap is to drain the water..just push it up...its spring activated. Your model compressor does not include the regulator. All you have to do is get one from Harbor Freight and add it on....8-10 bucks. I have the other model (without airbrushes and priced cheaper) and it came with the regulator.
  8. Jon, the picture you've shown is fine. Use some piano wire, pretty strong stuff..avail at hobby shops.
  9. Out of aluminum or plastic? If you're going to use a die, you would need 2: one toward and one reverse thread. But that might be overkill. Easiest way would be to use styrene and thread the rod accordingly. Scratchbuild the rod end and tap the same size. How about a picture of the kit tierod.
  10. LOL....good catch. The Watson Roadster was the one that wouldn't go together. This is the Kurtis Kraft.
  11. Thanks fellas. I did forget to add that I applied many coats of Duplicolor clear. Overall I am pleased with the car, but I am still learning how to build these cars to a higher standard than I did 20 years ago in high school. Back then, as long as the paint and wheels looked good, I didn't care what the rest of the model looked like. I'm slowly improving, but I am striving for the perfect car. This isn't perfect, but I learn from each car I build what I need to improve on.
  12. I was on a mission...but also it was a VERY low part count kit.
  13. I completed this in about 2 days. I had another car I had to assemble for a model car contest, and absolutely nothing fit. So I knocked this out and won 3rd place! Never entered a model car contest before. I was pleased, and will attend them in the future.
  14. Almost done. Need to address the vents...little too much paint buildup. Still need to attach the mirrors, detail the wipers, and a small paint chip on the hood near the vent.
  15. I believe any primer will show mold defects unless you fix them first. I lightly sand them then prime.
  16. One nice thing about the re issues of kits is it gives a guy like me a chance to buy kits at the store versus paying ungodly amounts on eBay. Case in point: I've been itching to kitbash the Ecto 1 but refuse to pay $50-100 for one on ebay.
  17. Gentleman, I already had to get rid of one post from this thread that would have eventually ended in some form of argument. Harry has apologized. MOVE ON PLEASE.
  18. Let's keep his family in our thoughts gang.
  19. This has caught my attention as well. Everyone was up in arms about the lack of chat yet it's rarely used now. Doesn't make sense.
  20. I purchased the $16.00 Harbor Freight food dehydrator, and it works great! I didn't modify or change anything. I simply put my freshly painted car body and pieces on the top shelf, put the lid on, opened the triangle vents, and the next day the body was ready to detail. No warped or melted pieces. Will this work with every model? Who knows. But I like it.
  21. Look at this one: http://www.japan-militaire.com/viewtopic.php?id=160
  22. Stunning car my friend.
  23. Thanks guys for the kind words. The paint finish took awhile. I decanted the red, and airbrushed. I then sanded smooth with 6000, and used the can to spray on another 2 coats. It was today I spent about 3-4 hours sanding and polishing. It's not perfect, but it looks pretty good I think. I have Donn Yost to thank, as his techniques have helped me tremendously. Any doubters or naysayers of his method, I urge you to learn his technique.
