  1. this one one of many done for the Road Warrior
  2. Are you still working on this project? any place i can find updates?
  3. I've built a couple of PETG vacformed shells that were intended to be used as slot cars. they are horribly flexible (lots of twist) and are difficult to glue or modify. They also lack detail and look kind of smoothed over. stick with styrene . the red one
  4. My problems in final assembly usually stem from kit manufacturers not having a proper placement system for the chassis (it goes somewhere there) and the interior bucket or dash or firewall will typically interfere with good placement of the chassis in the body.
  5. As your skills improve you need to keep pushing yourself to get further. unfortunately, the kits don't typically make for much of a challenge (other than paintjobs). so adding more detail is a necessary next step. You can avoid aftermarket sink by using household items and raw styrene to add detail.
  6. I brush painted my 57 chevy back in the early 80s. It's a Monogram kit painted with tamiya bottled red. it had visible brush strokes, but was the best i'd ever achieved with a brush. it's currently undergoing restoration in black.
  7. deleted your pictures already?
  8. that's some amazing weathering and damage work. i especially like the missing engine, having the transmission and torque converter visible.
  9. at least it HAS detail, unlike product from AMT & Revell, which usually have nothing but the raw engine.
  10. might be an interesting one to watch
  11. should be an interesting project. keep us updated. btw, i've found the 1/4" drum a lot more useful and easier to control than the 1/2". especially for grinding styrene.
  12. me too. it's very convincing
  13. your photo spot is coming along nicely. what did you cover the walls with? it has a nice subtle texture.
  14. when i was building a firebird and wanted a six banger to replace the v8 (base model) i bought a citation to rob the engine. i built the rest of the kit without the engine. i built it as a Joker goon car from the first Batman movie (not correct, but close enough to the Malibu they did use). it went together quite well, so i'd say the model is far superior to the 1:1.
  15. off to a good start. everyone should do a model of their own car.
  16. awesome job. interior catches my eye
  17. You can get Aoshima's RW Interceptor, i know a guy who did a conversion kit, but not sure if he has any left. You can get the police cars from partsbox.com. no van unfortunately.
  18. Enzo Ferrari was so incensed that the gave them two real daytonas for the show.
  19. i grew up during the 70s. all matchbox cars were like that...
  20. very cool. having built several of this cow, you've done a superb job. i like the subtle weathering underneath.
  21. hey barry, cool trabby.
  22. Is this the AMT supra or the Tamiya one? it's not like he's actually driving it
  23. nice charger. what was the kit like to build (compared to the revell kit you've also built)?
  24. amazing weathering
