  1. Looks good, the closed cab makes it more interesting and different
  2. Making a start on the interior. i've modified the dash bezel further modified dash and replacing seats. i wanted some more minimal utilitarian looking seats. the ones i chose don't have seat backs, so i'm adding those in.
  3. the rims and tires are from scene unlimited (style S41) http://scenesunltd.com With the suspension sorted, i painted and assembled it Chassis assembled glued the interior floor to the chassis, engine seen in background engine hidden away
  4. My wheels arrived from the USA and looked good, so i painted them and started adapting the suspension to fit the vehicle. the rear axle needed extending to meet the wheel. the rim's stem fits straight into the styrene tube i used. easy. i assembled the front suspension so i could work out what needed changing The wheels need more room, so i have to narrow the suspension. i cut 4mm out of the crossmember and redrilled the holes for the kingpins. this allows the A-arms to move inboard adapting the wheels to fit the kit's suspension was easy. the kit's hub plugs straight into the receiver on the rim.
  5. Painted blue sections painted metal trim on box
  6. He is indeed. 1/25 scale paper model
  7. i've put in a floor and rear door for the box. at some stage i might make the rear door open and fit out the rear section, but for now it'll be empty. masked up ready for painting bottom half in blue
  8. i've been working on the roof rack. I cut some styrene square rod cut to fit the plans on paper. temporarily glued both sides on and created the rear section
  9. Needed to start an indoor project while it's cold outside. I've been working on this for a couple weeks already. bought some styrene stock. a mitre box is a valuable tool here. This is the plan. a chevy van with a box rear cargo area. sheet styrene cladding the cut performed chassis work so far extended the chassis to new wheelbase
  10. cool. the diecast was probably your only option, so good job making it your car.
  11. call it ecto-2 for now. maybe i'll model it, maybe not. rather sad that people go to watch movies that are remakes of their favorite movies. They are rarely good.
  12. nice golf.
  13. My slightly warped Desoto Fireflyte didn't matter that it was warped, but i changed the chassis/interior with a 58 Belvedere.
  14. My suggestion to every younger/inexperienced modeler is to JUST DO IT! do it badly if you have to, but trying new things is how you learn. You can always go back in a few years after your skills have improved and try again. to experienced modelers, it's hard, but try to be encouraging while pointing out flaws. we don't want people to give up.
  15. Those would give less sidewall roll, you think drivers would like that
  16. why don't they do this rather than nerfing the aero and other features they employ to try and slow down the cars?? (the reason they banned turbos)
  17. I thought this was going to be about the Mythbusters batmobile (also a camaro)
  18. in the never ending quest to find detailed photos of real cars to refer to when modeling, i stumbled across this photo site that has lots of pictures of heaps of cars. I have no affiliation, i'm just hoovering all the good ones. http://tenwheel.com/category/741-trucks_cars__trucks_/index.html please post some of your favorite sites to help out others.
  19. This is a Holden Brougham. it's a stretched version of the base model Kingswood, aimed at the luxury market to compete with Ford Fairlane and Chrysler's Valiant VIP. I built mine as the car from the movie 'Dirty Deeds' starring Bryan Brown. I modified a Jaymar resin transkit Kingwood by extending the trunk. Chassis/interior is AMT Camaro. more here http://s1307.photobucket.com/user/aussiemuscle308/library/Model%20Cars/Dirty%20Deeds?sort=4&page=1 I've done some other Holdens, including FJ, FJ ute and FC. see also my race cars folder.
