  1. thank you, I know what you mean. I think that's why a lot of my builds stall at that point.
  2. Made up a quick radiator to mount between the frame rails. Need to mount it still, and decide what side I want to put the fan on.
  3. .094 and .078
  4. no, old fashioned way for me
  5. thanks Pat, learning little by little as I go
  6. this is out of this world detailing.. Where do you get your scale hardware? Ive been putting off picking some up, but this is just awesome.
  7. Made decent progress today, trying to get all the major fab work done before I start moving onto detailing and paint. I started with mounting that rear axle. Smoothed it out (had to widen it a bit) made boxed link mounts and made a 4 link using aluminum tube and RB motion rod ends. after that I needed a break from those tedious little links, so I whipped up a spun aluminum gas tank. Calculations shows it should hold about 11 gallons, should be more than enough to get to a couple car shows. Now I have a rolling chassis. also started messing with the body a bit more. couldn't resist a mock up.
  8. I like what you are doing here, one day I'll modify this z06 I have here to make my 1:1 grand sport
  9. This works.. now I need to mount this back there
  10. used various methods, but mostly a dry brush or shop towel.
  11. Thanks guys, I'm having fun with this one. I am happy wit this version of the blower manifold. Looks even better now that I took some thickness off the front of the blower too. playing with induction ideas, I think it got a name "over the top" then I started working on the rear, ended up making a bunch of scraps and decided to change gears. Played with the body a bit, and some iron paint.
  12. Man I really hope this kit comes to life..
  13. Ok so I hated that manifold, it reminded me of sawhorses or something silly... And not in a good way. so I cut it up and made a new one.
  14. You are nutty and I'm glad I know you.. Makes me feel better about being me. Haha. and where did you get that cutter idea?? Thanks for being the guinny pig
  15. I don't remember actually...
  16. That front axle is pretty nice, I just sole one myself today for a build. That was my favorite inspiration car too, but I think I said that already. Ha
  17. That led to me having to rework all that lovely fragile front end stuff and again I got lucky, also put some speed holes in that thing while I was at it. and manifold is coming closer to something useable.
  18. Well a series of good ideas lead to a little luck and a different front axle. Started by thinning out a set of wheel backs from a 32 kit And here is where the luck came in, they worked out perfect. Thinned the mounting flanges and found a set of disks. Epoxy some pins in and now I have fronts. That led to my next problem, the front axle I was using had to go. By pure dumb luck the new 29 roadster had a axle that would work perfect.
  19. weird is good, I'm sure it's not everyone's taste. But I'm going for a little awkward here..
  20. Thanks everyone
  21. Tweaked the manifold a bit
