  1. decided on brakes tonight, raided one of my Z06 kits for the rotor/calipers. Front one is going to clear pretty good I think Making rotor hats on my "lathe" Looks like this should work well. I am pretty happy with it, I know it doesnt show well in pics. but once the paint starts flying it should all come together pretty well.
  2. These look great
  3. My 41 Chevy build
  4. Yeah it's going to be way closer than I could have hoped for. I know the ssr/trailblazer is a good chassis in 1:1 to use. So I figured it was worth a shot.
  5. my other kits came in, I had a hunch about the SSR, and it worked out perfect. i originally got it for the running gear. but now it looks like the chassis, suspension, drive train and even parts of the interior will be useable.. The ZR1 is for the slight chance I take the easy way out, i'll rob it of its blower.
  6. made a paper mockup for the rear panel.. I decided the rear does need to come in a tad.
  7. Started on hanging the rear axle I have to decide if the links are too long though before I keep going. I'm thinking it needs to be trimmed a bit.
  8. So I started on the link mounts today. After fighting trying to attach them to the aluminum tube I realized that wasn't goig to work, so I cut the ends off, stuck a smaller aluminum tube in and sleeved that with styrene tube. I was able to get a better bond with those tiny tabs this way. I still have to shape the chassis side, but you get the idea. I've also committed to using the more modern mesh wheels, I also hit that point of no going back and stripped off the rest of the chrome. I'm going with gloss black rings with satin/flat black or gunmetal centers.
  9. Those are gm vortec 4200 motors.. Most commonly found in Chevy trailblazers
  10. Awesome build! I love it. I can see the hints of your inspiration for sure!
  11. Making this official. Here is my entry. 53 sedan delivery, details not sorted. However I know it will be slightly weathered on the outside, something modern in the inside. Probably a LS based motor. Only real giveaway on the outside will probably be the wheels/tires and brakes. Not using these wheels, but probably doing something these sizes.
  12. This is awesome.. I might have to steal this idea and make something like it myself. It's almost too cool not to
  13. I'm in with a 53 Chevy sedan delivery
  14. man.. why did I have to go and do this to myself....
  15. Interior floor is awesome.. Kudos on actually dropping for the doors
  16. Went back and forth on how to deal with possible interference on the rear of the frame from the driveshaft. Decided on cutting a section out (that was scary!) and replacing it with a section of rod Ready to start the rear suspension now.. Played aground with this idea.. I'll probably save it for another build in my head.
  17. got the engine mounted today, seems the smallest things take the most time. I must have messed with this for hours today, in the end I'm happy with the result though. I also propped the back up a bit more, think I am ready to start on the rear now.
  18. I don't e know what to say, this is seriously awesome. Those wheels are epic!
  19. About time you posted here.. You already know what I think
