  1. Although I am a Ford guy I have always liked the lines on the 37 Chevy. Don't see too many at Hot Rod shows though. Here is one I did last year. Even put a Ford motor in it to help balance out all the Ford's with Chevy motors in them. Looking forward to seeing yours come together. Sorry for the bad pics. My old phone had a lousy camera.
  2. Great looking build. Reminds me of my first car, a 1948 Ford Coupe. One note on the dash is that on;y the center trim should be chrome (refer to your second picture).
  3. Have you ever tried the Plastruct Plastic weld? It works great on bare plastic. Pretty much melts the plastic together for a strong bond. You would have to strip the area of paint, but it shouldn't be to difficult to mask and respray the windshield frame after the repair
  4. Very cool build. The proportions are just right.
  5. Glad to see this one finished, Nice to see something different done to a Merc every now and then.
  6. Looks great.Knowing how basic this kit is I am really impressed by this build.
  7. Thanks for sharing. Just picked up the new Revell kit. Love it, just wished it came with a hood.
  8. Might want to upgrade the brakes then!
  9. Looks really cool. Have you thought about recessing the engine a bit?
  10. Great build. Putting one together myself. No where near your detail as mine will be dusty and sitting on my desk on a "dirt road" base when done.
  11. Really enjoying this build. Great detailing throughout.
  12. Great looking build.
  13. Very impressive workmanship.
  14. Very Impressive build. All of the detailing is perfectly to scale.
  15. Great looking 40. Nice job on the detailing and overall look. Very convincing and not overdone.
  16. Simply incredible. What else can anyone say. I love watching your masterpieces come together. You inspire John.
  17. Very nice work. I used to do a lot of drawing when I had the time. I had and art scholarship (way back when) that I passed up on (stupid, stupid, stupid) and helped a buddy of mine with some techniques (He is now an accomplished artist that has published a few art books) Sorry...my jealousy got the best of me there for a minute. Seriously, Love your artwork.
  18. Wow, Love the Merc. I passed up one picking up one of these kits just yesterday, but after seeing this I'll be picking one up. Just bookmarked this one so I can go through and read all the tips. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Looks like a cool project. One thing to consider is that the grill shells on 30 and 31 model A's were polished stainless steel so you may want to use some metalizer or Alcad on the shell and avoid adding any rust to that part.
  20. Not the best of my builds, but since I have only been able to finish less than a model a year for the past few years, just getting these done is a huge accomplishment for me. I am working on a few detailed builds, but here are the finished ones so far... http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z118/delaustin/Models/Cobra/IMG_2392_zps44cdd65a.jpg Worked on the Cobra most of last year, but didn't finish it till 2014 so it counts! http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z118/delaustin/Models/Willys%20Gasser/IMG_20140525_153452_zpsinjygu2e.jpg http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z118/delaustin/Models/Sligster%20Dragster/IMG_20140604_154916_zpspyx8lwvt.jpg Hope to have a few detailed builds done this year. Thanks for looking. Comments/Critiques welcomed.
  21. Looks good so far. Always loved bugs but have yet to build one.
  22. Very cool Deuce. Kinda car I'd like in 1:1!
  23. Here is my first attempt at patina...
  24. The 32 is looking good. Always hated that kit myself. My dads neighbors did the same thing. We helped them out by putting a gutter on their shed and having it dump back into their yard. Also built a 2' retaining wall the along the entire property line to keep their water runoff out of his yard. Unfortunately for them the next big rain flooded their house...BAD.
