  1. I'm imatt88 no matter where I go. If you run across that username anywhere, you know exactly who it is
  2. Don, Awesome! My daughter rolled into town from college the other day, and I'm waiting to see her. Kids are great!
  3. Dude, that really sucks. Don't try and figure it out. You never will. I know, I had a fellow soldier a couple of years ago take his own life, the funeral was hard for our whole unit Good kid, good soldier, to this day, I still don't know why he did it. Drive on bro, thats all you can do..
  4. Fisher, Well said bro For me, being a Pontiac guy, I would have to say the 1969 Grand Prix and 1970 Bonneville. Being a budget modeler, I can't afford the high eBay prices for a pile of parts that used to be one of those cars. But I built both of them when I was a kid, and I hope someday to get them again. Unbuilt or built, I don't care Cheers, Ian
  5. Nice build. Looks like I might have to pick this one up
  6. Hey all, What can you guys tell me about this kit.. I've always thought the retractable hardtop was the coolest thing, and I was thinking about picking it up.. New kit or repop? Cheers, Ian
  7. Yeah,no doubt Andy, if I make it back down there, I will definately give you a call Cheers, Ian
  8. Phil, Super job on those cars. Love the weathering I, too, build mostly aircraft models as well. I'd like to see pics of your stuff. Cheers, Ian
  9. Yeah, I remember that place!! I hope to make it back down there again someday. I hear Grissom has a real nice aircraft museum now
  10. Sweet!
  11. IGuy, Killer build! Where did you get the ragtop body from, resin or kit conversion? Cheers, Ian
  12. Excellent work! I bet it would raise a few eyebrows at a contest
  13. Cool idea, I like it
  14. Don, Same to you, and thanks. I build for the same reason, to relax. Now if I could just get a better paint job on my cars, I'd be happy You don't have to polish Flat Gull Gray or Olive Drab
  15. Andy, Welcome aboard!! Good to see young people still building. I though computer games was killing our hobby.. Were abouts in Hoosier land do you live? I was stationed a Grissom AFB back in the early '80s and I really liked it there. I used to buy all my kits from a mall in Logansport, can't remember the name now, its been so long.. Then in 2003, I was with a unit that mobilizes out of Camp Atterbury, near Columbus. I liked the Columbus area, but Camp Atterbury was no fun I started building when I was 11, and you haven't lived until you've used latex house paint to paint a model Cheers, Ian
  16. Man, those are clean castings. Cool, I like the Starliner, whatcha asking for it? how 'bout some Pontiacs Cheers, Ian
  17. No, seriously, where can I buy one of these?
  18. George, Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I live in the western UP, probably the furthest point away from you that I could possibly be I haven't been to the Detroit area since my aunt passed away in 2007. Since its about a 10 to 11 hour drive to get to you, I don't make it there very often I would love to see these kits up close. It would be nice to see what I'm buying before I buy it Hey Greg, It always helps to hold on to those extra parts Cheers, Ian
  19. SWEET! Love those old cars
  20. Looks like a Hudson Hornet to me Where can I buy one of these, and what other kind of cars available?
  21. I've never had one of these kits before and its pretty basic. It's on my "to do" list
  22. Foxer, Thanks for the link I might take a stab at one of those mid '60s Pontiac wagons one of these days. Nice Plymouths, BTW Cheers, Ian
  23. Hey all, Just picked this up, question is..I noticed a slight bow in the upper part of the body. Is this the old plastic that once its starts bending, its shot, or can I still give this the hot water treatment to try and straighten it out? I remember reading an article years ago in Scale Auto or Car Modeler magazine, about a guy who was restoring a old Ford promo model that was really bowed To save the kit, he ended up buying a resin body. Can I save this T-Bird? Cheers, Ian
  24. Greg, Nice Caddy, what kit are you using as a doner, or is it a complete kit? Chuck, How do I contact this Steve? Does he have a website? Thanks, Ian
  25. Thanks for the input guys. I have a little experience working with resin, mostly aircraft related stuff, but not the kind of work you guys are describing. Most of the stuff on eBay was going for anywhere from $48 to $55. Not bad I guess. Well, maybe some other time. I think I'll try Modelhaus for my first resin kit
