  1. RIP Cpl Turner When I was in Afghanistan, my platoon did Honor Guard for two fallen comrades killed by an IED north of Kandahar, Watching that metal, flag draped casket go by you, to be loaded into a C-130, is a feeling that I cannot describe.... I do not want to ever have to do that again. "For those who fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know" Sgt Edward I Matthews (Ret) 1432nd Engineer Support Platoon Kandahar, Afghanistan 2005-06 OEF-6
  2. Charlie, Be patient, I have trouble with follow up posts. I'll do my best, though Mike, I was thinking about one of those funky, late '50's pastel colors, maybe a coral/white combo, or something along those lines This, or maybe this, but I'm not sure what the dark accent color is, a dark reddish sort of color..? Cheers, Ian
  3. Wow, what a ride...
  4. Mike, Yeah, I agree, its going to be a project. They're famous for LOTS of parts in their kits. Their aircraft kits are worse. I have the '60 Bonny kit, I must admit, its a little intimidating. So far, so good Cheers, Ian
  5. Thanks, Nick Still a long way to go.
  6. Probably not red, not sure what color it is going to be yet Haven't got that far yet Cool story, shame the car had to go to overseas, and not someone local Cheers, Ian
  7. Hey all, Had to put the Pontiacs away until I can afford to rechrome the bumpers, Anyway, here is my latest folly The workbench. Edsels galore My homemade ragtop. The convertible boot is out of my parts box, and looks too narrow to me, but its all I have to work with Test fitting the continental kit Test fitting the rear wheels for the Ranger. Had a little trouble aligning the rear axle. The rear wheels seemed to be too far forward, so I had to do some "adjusting" Anyway, thats it for now, Cheers, Ian
  8. I can hardly wait to see the junker
  9. Mike, Plain Jane, I love it! BTW, hows the Grandville coming? Cheers, Ian
  10. mook, Nice job on the lowrider. I don't know much about them, but they sure do look cool Cheers, Ian
  11. Easy Off won't work on the undercoat. I already tried it on my AMT '65 Pontiac 2+2 front grill. I got the chrome off, but haven't found anything that will remove the undercoat Would brake fluid work?
  12. Looks good to me, Don
  13. I started modeling by myself when I was 9 or 10. I'm 47 now I used to sit at the end of my Dad's workbench and watch him build armor and aircraft kits, just so I could play with them when they were done 38 years, give or take a few
  14. Junior, Sweet job! What kit did you use? Hasegawa with the roof cut off, or resin?
  15. Swwet! Love that engine
  16. Hey all, Just a quick update on my current projects. These are all in the mockup stage only, still a ways to go AMT '65 2+2 with the 8 lug rims Stripped the chrome off the grill. Opened up the vents on the bottom Mockup of the 2+2 interior, with the Hasegawa seats and steering wheel. Just playing around with ideas Hasegawa 1966 Bonny. Yup, cut out the hood, it's getting a motor Just don't ask me how I'm going to do it yet Reliable Resin Rallye II wheels. '58 Corvette..waiting for BMF Keep you posted, Cheers, Ian
  17. Count, Your 2+2 is cool. I like those redline tires A custom it is then. Definately sharp looking.
  18. Hey all, OK, I thought I was pretty knowlegable about Pontiacs, however in doing research for info on the AMT '65 2+2 I'm working on, I came across this: If I'm not mistaken, that is a Grand Prix grill in a 2+2....a 1:1 kitbash? Umm, did I miss something here? Never seen that before. Did this really exist, or did someone use whatever parts were available for a restoration? If this is real, it would make for an interesting variation on the Catalina, for sure Cheers, Ian
  19. Good news We're waiting for his return
  20. just beautiful!
  21. Tony, I've had to resort to using the Dremel to remove glue spots before, but I've used the freezer method too, and it works. It also works on breaking super glue bonds as well. BTW, love the avatar Up the Irons, bro
  22. Nice job, Harold
