  1. I like Tamiya tape but blue tape has never failed me either. Just make sure you have it down well and most will do you just fine.
  2. I am the same way. I was one of the few in a club up in Michigan that would run wheels on the ground. From my experience racing and from what many racers have told me the whole wheels off the ground thing is a myth started back in the late 60's early 70's. Some of the top guys started running that way because back then contacts weren't as good as they are now and it was easy to lose power. Nowadays all that has been fixed and the friction created negates any sort of power advantage you would get from the contact. Isn't that surface slick? You guys must spin the wheels all the way down the track even with sticky sprays and tire glue.
  3. I will be building the same semi soon I will be watching your build.
  4. Thanks for that link. Those Aurora kits look amazing.
  5. Ok thanks. I will just stick with the Titan 90 I already have.
  6. Are you going to post up what you are building? The Gearz Contest didn't get much response with your thread because it has already been beat to death on the forums Seems like one or two posts a week pop up about it.
  7. I just listed the show in the calendar.

  9. Thanks, I mildly feel special I thought it was a Charger and I thought the front end of the delivery Monte looked like a Monte Carlo but I asked anyway. Guess my car knowledge is better than I thought.
  10. I was wondering what the AMT Junkyard Dog kit builds up like. I am considering getting one for a dio project but for the cost I really want to see it and know how it builds up first. If you guys have any photos or information on building it up I would appreciate it. Thanks.
  11. What is the greenish colored thing next to the Prowler? and pardon my lack of muscle car knowledge what is the car to the right of the green thing?
  12. I don't know about understanding unless you mean in general about cars, armor, ships, etc. I barely know anything about Ferrari's but they are one of my favorite build subjects. I think Interest in the subject is probably the most important thing you can have all the tools and 100+ kits but you are are not interested in the subject matter you won't build them. I think Desire to build is just more selective branch of interest. If you have no desire you won't build no matter how much you have interest in the subjects you are working with. I have currently over 60 kits but I only have a desire to build about 10-15 of them. So the others will just sit. Patience is one of the things I think really stops a young modeler from continuing the hobby beyond a kit or two. Kit's don't always go together well and paint doesn't always lay down smooth. Going slow and test fitting are a must. Practice is important and I think every modeler young or old should consider each model good or bad just practice for the next. As for tools and things. I have seen guys that build and the only tools they have are an x-acto knife some fine grit sand paper and scissors and his models are contest winning. It's not about the tools you have it's about knowing how to use them for the application.
  13. Awesome shop. I wish I could have something like that.
  14. I think it is "As Soon As we Get it Done". I mean the Lonestar and Husdson can't be more than a couple months off max the 300C I don't know about.
  15. Awesome looking car. Are the front wheels on the ground or do they hang? What is the surface of that track?
  16. I think it is a neat idea. I buy built-ups all the time at flea markets and garage sales. It would be neat to see when some of that old stuff was built. I don't really want to attach my name to anything I am building right now but when I get better I might start marking them.
  17. Sadly they don't exist anymore. Rob, the owner, passed away last year.
  18. It's a bit to far for me but I know a couple guys going.
  19. Those dealers are everywhere. I work part time for a estate auction and sales company and I see those dealers every weekend. If only I was allowed to buy on the first day of a sale. I would be swimming in kits. In all honesty considering I am only 27 I will probably drop the hobby and come back to it several times, hopefully, before I pass on. My kits will probably end up getting sold or my kids or some family will take them.
  20. They look a little big and thick for direct fitting but cutting and gluing to lenth shouldn't be hard but shaving them down to a more realistic thickness might be a bit tasking. When you get some mocked up post some pictures.
  21. Interesting is right. I will be keeping an eye on it.
  22. I use thinner and grunt power too. Works for me.
  23. Same here your worst makes my best look like a 4 year old built it.
  24. Looks awesome. It's a great conversion.
  25. WOW just WOW. That is amazing. Something tells me that is a very inefficient way to transport though.
