  1. A case at the current model prices geez. Hope you can take out a second mortgage.
  2. For those of you complaining about this isn't allowed and that isn't allowed. They chose a very popular selection of cars. In fact the MOST popular selection of cars from Revell in recent years. Revell and Gearz want to make this a yearly contest and it has already been mentioned that the types of cars allowed will change every year. Revell and Gearz are hoping for a huge turnout for the first contest to really launch it and honestly hot rods are probably the best way to go. The static wow factor of a "hot rod" is way more than a 60's or 70's muscle car. If everyone complains their favorite car isn't allowed and nobody enters the contest won't last and you won't get the chance to build your type of car in a future contest. I know I am not going to sway any opinions but I just wanted to put that out there. It's no wonder the hobby is failing everyone complains no matter what the companies do.
  3. Only second place? That paint job is insane.
  4. That Fairlane GT/GTA looks wicked. I just put that on my want list.
  5. I was thinking the same thing. How sad is it that even as spectators we look at cars and say "we could get another sponsor for the car". I wonder about how the car reacts in high crosswind situations. If the weather is bad and it is very windy I have a feeling that fin is going to do more harm than good.
  6. The car is a really nice color. Looks good so far.
  7. Post it if you want to. I highly doubt posting what you are going to submit is really going to hurt your chances.
  8. I recently started a model related blog. It's just a for fun thing for me to stay active in writing and gives me another outlet to enjoy modeling. CheckeredPenguin.com I hope you enjoy and don't forget to check back atleast once a week. Did some work on the blog. New header, the model site directory was upgraded, two days ago a new post was put up. Don't forget to vote in the polls am posting up every week will be a new one.
  9. 3D printing is way cool but I keep hearing it is very wasteful.
  10. Not sure why you would think Aoshima should send you the replacement parts? Two years and a kit you obviously knew was missing pieces. They probably don't even have anymore in stock. I would either get another kit or just throw those parts in your parts bin. You could post up in the wanted section or in the swap trade section if you have stuff to trade I am sure someone here has the kit you might be able to trade for it. You could try eBay. Also the on the workbench section was not the proper place for this.
  11. DISABLED MODELER ---- Happy Birthday Mark.
  12. I rarely have any major trouble with Tamiya that I find with Revell and AMT kits but they are expensive for curbside kits. But I tend to stay away from them even when they are a subject I like. I personally don't see the point in spending 50 bucks on a kit that doesn't have an engine. The highly detailed interior is nice but I personally have never seen a car made in 1:1 that the hood didn't open so to me they are pointless. Why produce such cool models and leave out one of the best parts.
  13. I am not trying to scare you but if the mold has been in the car sitting and spreading it could be all over the car and not just in the one carpet spot. Every time you turn on the heater or AC you are effectively blowing mold spores all over the car including on yourself. If you want to try and clean it yourself I would use hydrogen peroxide. If the mold has been in the car for a long while I would clean the whole car with it. Also you will want to change the cabin air filter as mold spores might be growing on that too.
  14. Wow he almost completely severed his hand. He will get be back to normal it will just take a while. So long as they got the blood flow back in time which is seems like they did he should be pretty well off. It's the nerve damage they won't find for months that could be the deciding factor in how long his recovery time is.
  15. I have been wondering if the Robin was made also. Such a weird and scary car.
  16. The problem was the "Donor kit" was so expensive at the time the same price as a licensed kit. It wasn't economical to buy. Just like the stupid engine kits Revell put out a couple years ago. A Great idea that people actually wanted but horrible execution led to low sales.
  17. Might also be the fact that these old less detailed kits are more than 10 dollars cheaper than their new higher detailed kit counterparts. I think price has a lot to do with it.
  18. I just use a cotton swab wettened and run it over the edge and then pat dry any extra wetness. a wet finger would do the same but you would also be putting down skin oils so you wouldn't want to use your finger. You could also just use the corner of a slightly damp towel.
  19. You mean made in China and printed in Baraboo. The only towels they make in the factory are what they call their Four Star line. The handout Terrible Towels are NOT made in the USA only the towels you buy at the stadium and team approved stores are. All the news outlets seem to omit that fact when they say the towels are made in Wisconsin. A local business a friend of mine owns orders custom towels from them and found out his towels were made in China and Printed in Barboo when the sample towels we was sent had a made in the USA tag on them but his ordered towels did not. He called McArthur and only after threat of sending back his order did they admit his towels were not made in the factory. That's also why they don't plaster the MADE IN THE U.S.A logo all over their website.
  20. I think it is cool. wonder how stable it is in the water though. Must be really top heavy.
  21. I use it and I like it a lot. I pre wet it though not because I have had bad experiences but because another modeler told me to do it like that.
  22. I was thinking the same thing. Only watching the game in the background.
  23. Their should be a rule one year and done. I have seen people blow up all the time about things though. Seen it in RC, slot cars, county fair contest, etc. It's not like we are doing these things for cash or anything it's just crazy how people flip out.
  24. Awesome build. BMWs are my favorite car brand and you captured this one nicely. The colors are great and your photo quality is better than many so I wouldn't worry.
  25. Really cool all of them are great.
