Out of my price range. But honestly I barely hang on in the hobby anyway with kits at 25 bucks a pop. Trumpeter has always produced great armor and military kits but they always seemed to drop the ball with automotive kits. Hopefully this one will be nice and I can pick it up somewhere for about half what they want for retail.

For five bucks a piece try and get whatever you can. Honestly everyone will tell you to look out for certain things but unless you are reselling just take what you like and will want to build. Don't let him rip you off though do you know what the value of your cards are?

Another Hobby Shop Closing
ra7c7er replied to Towmaster Dave's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's rough when a shop closes. Hopefully the owners are doing fine and didn't close out of bankruptcy. -
another update with no pics. I really need to figure out my girlfriends camera. I braved the storm to go get this stuff. When I got there I wound up helping the guy get his car in his garage and chasing his dog down when he ran off. After I caught his dog he sold everything to me for half what we originally worked out. A good deal turned into a great deal just for helping someone out. Both of those cars look really cool The Studebaker looks amazing. So many cool cars never get produced yet we have 20 different 57 chevys. Why?

Ferarri F-150 (the hard way)

It's sad that people get cars like that and destroy them through stupidity. -
Prius Model Kit - Preorders taken
ra7c7er replied to Hornistfuller's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
You all do know that the Prius is one of the worst cars for manufacturing pollution in the world right. It's not even all that great at mileage. Anyone remember the Top Gear test? or the tests Road and Track did? Seems like the only people claiming the Prius is such and environmental car is Toyota and the yuppies that only believe what the media tells them. -
I've never understood why anyone would want to use photo bucket, lol. Lots of better sites out there for organizing photos. Granted Photo Bucket has gotten tons better in the last couple years but they still are way off many other free sites.

Good luck to our northern neighbors
ra7c7er replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This storm is doing some crazy things. I think the ice will be really bad but I don't think the snow is going to be as bad as they are saying. Granted you guys in MI who get the lake effect stuff to are probably going to get a couple feet. -
Midget Racer combo ideas...
ra7c7er replied to Terror's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think that truck is pretty much right on. A friend of mine uses that exact same truck to haul his racer to the track. -
I always thank people for sending me things even if is a trade. I also have tons of parts but sadly most I don't know what they are. When I do know something though I always pass it on.

Turner Motorsports has a live pit cam on there site. Anyone know of any other teams or websites running cams?

I am watching. I just wish they would show the the whole thing. Everyone admits including the announcers, drivers, teams, officials, and fans that the best racing is at night so they need to start showing it.

Dr Cranky's B-Day!!!!!
ra7c7er replied to george 53's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
happy Birthday, Dr. Cranky -
If you want to ship that box of wheels here I will gladly umm hold on to it for you. I have moved three times in the last year and a half chasing work. It's tough.

Revell and R2 really need to take a listen to that interview and take to heart what he says. I think they could learn a few things.
-
That makes sense then. Same here I only watch one to F1 races a year. Which is still more than I watch Nascar.

It's nice to see them selling them cheap instead of marking them way way up like most estate buyer/dealers do.

Your all time top favorite model?
ra7c7er replied to ra7c7er's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I knew someone eventually was going to say a kit that kicks their @$$. Kind of like your personal Eleanor. I have one of those too and it is one of my favorite kits. -
Cars 2 seems so far out there compared to the first one. Seriously why do they become anti-spys? Why not keep it with a good story and a nice moral at the end. It seems like every Disney movie has a great story and moral and then the 2nd and 3rd are just filler movies to capitalize on the market. I know they had to do something different since losing two of the characters but they went pretty far out there. Also the for a movie set in present day alternate universe they kind of goofed on the inaugural world grand prix considering there already has been a world grand prix called the A1 World GP. Guess in Disney world since it didn't happen in the US it doesn't count. I will still watch it but I highly doubt it will be as good as the first. Maybe funnier and maybe cooler but I highly doubt better in terms of story and moral.

ra7c7er replied to MikeMc's topic in 1:1 Reference Photos: Auto Shows, Personal vehicles (Cars and Trucks)
I wonder how many cars could be made with one wood mold like that. Seems like they would take a ton of abuse. -
What is your all time single favorite model kit? The one you would build over and over no matter how many times it's reissued or you how many you build. Example; you can't pick the Kurtis Midget Racer because there are two of them. You would have to pick with either the Offy engine or with the other engine.

Formula 150 is also the name for a expensive Italian Scooter. Maybe they just wanted to capitalize on brand association around the world. Those cars are insanely fast though.

Looking for...Gordie Bonin Bubble Up Monza decals
ra7c7er replied to DWR's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Oh wow sorry I didn't even look at the car brand. My fault the decal sheet for the Monza is part number 1215 and isn't listed on there website anymore. I would contact them they probably still can make it just didn't sell enough of them to keep them as in stock product. I did find a site that has them. pm'ing you with site because they only have a couple sheets left. -
Exactly right highway. It's a safety flag so people can see the line better.
