  1. Really neat just hope you never have to replace the blades.
  2. Have you tried going to a local shop you would be surprised what auto shops can get in a local area even when you can't find anything yourself. Like others have said why not just go with a 9"? If you are having this much trouble finding 8.8 stuff now what happens if it breaks down the road. 9" stuff is available everywhere.
  3. Whats the silver ball thing under the back of the car? Volleyball maybe? and what was the exclusive record offer? I have always wanted a 45 with my model kits, lol.
  4. After this thread and doing as much research as I could it looks like I need the cab forward section of the DOH wrecker and the bed of the Midnight Cowboy. I don't have any stock trucks in the year range I am looking for.
  5. The links in the original post are gallery images from a forum site the images probably don't exist at that site anymore. --- The buildings are really cool.
  6. You might be right Tomy might put the buyout on hold till they can get a good look at their situation. Also I was just reading that RC2 doesn't own Tomas the tank engine. They only license it which Tomy does also already. So Thomas can't be to much of the reason for the buyout. That leaves the Ertl band and Learning curve which licenses most of it's line to. I am guessing this is less about acquiring a competitor and more about moving into better markets.
  7. From a fan of dirt track racing. This looks like it could start right along side the cars at my local track.
  8. Might make good resin stuff but they need to make a business Facebook page. I sent a friend request three days ago and have yet to be approved. With a business page that wouldn't happen and you wouldn't have to be a friend to see their photos and things. Also why would they put their catalog up on facebook and not on their real website? Seems kind of silly to me.
  9. Anytime you can get complete kits for less that $10 you are doing great. Some cool kits too.
  10. Welcome back and that drawing is really cool.
  11. My girlfriend got a order of craft stuff from Japan yesterday. It was pretty sobering to read Rikuzentakata on the return address and then see the pictures of what the city looks like now.
  12. Not necessarily, Tomy could easily cancel any current contracts That have not been acted on. If they really wanted to they could stop all production but that would only hurt them.
  13. Awesome tutorial. I will be using this in the future.
  14. It's also entirely possible that Tomy takes the toolings to Japan and we either never see them again or see them come back as $50 dollar import kits.
  15. Same here I always learn as much as I can.
  16. Only 4 out of 19 but I don't know squat about muscle car engines.
  17. Any tips on making the walls?
  18. If Tomy puts the toolings up for sale does anyone think R2 has enough capitol to buy them? I honestly wouldn't want to see Revell buy them we need competition to keep the prices somewhat in check. Other than R2 and Revell who is there? Mobius? the only other real U.S. based model company, I doubt they would even consider it. Maybe we could see a completely new player come up and start something? I also don't think any of the Asian brands would want to buy them American cars are popular in Asia but it's a big risk considering that if they would have to charge almost double to U.S. comsumers because of import costs. Not many of those old tooling are going to produce cars that are worth the price.
  19. I hope so. I would hope any contracts that RC2 had Tomy would honor. Does tomy have any plastic model brands?
  20. Is RC2 and R2 the same company? I know ertl, and Johnny Lighting are RC2 brands but I thought R2 was its own company?
  21. Wow RC2 as a company were doing fairly well. It's amazing to see how companies are starting to sell themselves before they fall. My question is does this affect R2? I thought they were different companies.
  22. From what I read on the speed forums a while back the Wrecked guys and the producers had a falling out. Money and privacy were a big issue. But who knows Speed has a thing for canceling shows with high ratings if they are not Nascar related.
  23. really cool.
