  1. Picked up a COPO Nova from the local shop can't wait to start on it but I have to shelve it till I get a few other projects done.
  2. The box is really cool. I have a couple old instruction sheets I am saving to frame to put in my model area.
  3. This weekend a friends girlfriend dropped off a old model collection he had from his grandfather. In it was 23 models and a old rail car, the precursor to slot cars. He originally wanted me to sell them for him but just this morning I was told I could have them. All of them were issued and built in the early 60s. Their was even some botles of testors paint from the same time period. The Mercedes 540K (first car in the first photo) had a 3rd place ribbon taped to the bottom of it from a model show in 1964 (Must have been a box build class because the model is completely unpainted). The Coupe next to the Mercedes had a 2nd place ribbon on it but no year was on the award. The rail car and one of the models is not shown in the photos. I also found 3 promo cars, two 1970 Corvette LT-1's and a 1994 Camaro Z-28. I don't usually collect promos but when you drive 3 hours round trip to go to a flea market when gas is near $4 a gallon you better come back with something. I don't know what was up with model dealers in St. Louis this weekend but I went to four flea markets that usually have model dealers and they were all MIA.
  4. Where is the second one kept? Under the car or are they stacked?
  5. You can still see the wall behind your collection. YOU NEED MORE.
  6. Really cool. I would never think to build anything like that. Just hope the rider doesn't hit any bumps on the way there.
  7. Their are dozens of other posts that have been made about shows in this section that nobody said anything against and have NOT been moved to the shows section. Why this one and why wasn't this one moved instead of the comment?
  8. I will see you there. I was going to get a booth selling some vintage built ups a friend wants me to sell for him but he flaked out on paying for the booth. Now I will just be going to buy.
  9. The push bumper was NOT in the 2000 release of the 3100 so at least that will be added or readded to the kit. If they are adding that maybe we will see a few extra parts too. I will be picking one up and if it has some cool additions the old release doesn't have I might get more than one. Thanks for posting. A fun little note - The men's room has interior access and the womens restroom is accessed only from the outside. They would never be allowed to be built like that today, lol. They would be sued to fast, lol.
  10. I have never heard of them do you have a picture?
  11. Really cool. I have been wanting to get a few of those cars and yours just make me want them even more.
  12. I have not bought or sold on Emodelcars yet but I plan to for the sole reason of it being free. I don't really think you need to pay for and advertising campain. Just send a few emails to guys that run other boards and see if they will post links or let you put up a post about the site. I am sure the DPMCC guys wouldn't mind and BriansModelCars probably wouldn't either. Their is no reference to the MCM forums on the Emodel site so the other boards wouldn't have to worry about you snipping their members. You might want to try and contact a few dealers and see if they would post some stuff up (you could give out the info at the shows you go to). If you could get just one or two dealers to continuously post up on Emodelcars that would make a huge difference. You need more sellers with new stuff to bring in the buyers and with more transactions being made more sellers will come and bring the buyers with them. Oh also you should contact places like Crazy Scale Auto and other photobucket based resin, decal, and aftermarket guys. Your site would give them a safer and more secure place sell their items and it would be free for them. It would also allow them to get their products to a larger audience.
  13. That's cool. What other things are you planning on doing with it?
  14. Ebay is trying to cut out all the small one off item sellers. They are going more and more corporate and business friendly every time they update something. Heck ebay even said in one of their last corporate statements that they want to cut down on the amount of personal sellers and start just going for businesses. You guys wouldn't believe the discounts businesses get on Ebay and Pay Pal fees. They are also trying to cut out the cheap items. Ebay doesn't want the 99 cent items posted anymore. Something you guys may not know is that Ebay has been kicking the idea around of not allowing listings for items less than 5 dollars. Adding fees to shipping is going to do the exact opposite of what Ebay claims it will do. If they really wanted to clamp down on the high shipping fees they would start penalizing sellers who post high fees and do not ship as they say they will. Some sellers offer refunds when shipping is lower than estimated I try to use them. Ebay needs to make shipping refunds mandatory that would cut down on the high shipping rates.
  15. LOL, depends on who your friends are.
  16. I hope you find it. They probably stole it thinking their were hand tools in it. Have you tried your local pawn shops that's where most stolen tools wind up. Since all they found was airbrush stuff they might have just dumped it too. Try checking some big commercial dumpsters in your area. A few years ago I had a toolbox stolen what the guys didn't know though is that the box was full of Warhammer 40k gaming miniatures. The police found it in a dumpster about 4 blocks from my house. I actually thought it was pretty funny.
  17. Looks great. I like your color choices and the wheels look nice too.
  18. I need someone to drop stuff off at my house. Great score.
  19. Looks very realistic. Great Dio. That barrel stove is a awesome detail. Any chance you could post up a tutorial on building it?
  20. Congrats on the find. It's really cool looking.
  21. Such an awesome car and a great build too. Who makes that kit? I think I have to have one.
  22. Slot car racing is actually on the downward trend of it's most recent uprising. But it is also just getting into some areas. Here in St. Louis their is a club that has been actively racing since the mid 60's.
  23. I was working at a house next to a rail crossing and a railroad company truck came up from the road and turned onto the tracks. It lowered it's rail wheels and drove down the line. Obviously I have seen rail trucks before but never have seen one get on the tracks. It made me wonder if anyone has ever made a set of rail wheels for model trucks.
