Burago make/made a A5 metal body kit. Other than that all I know is the R8 and A4 DTM car.

photo hosting sites
ra7c7er replied to slantasaurus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's funny that they leave out photobucket. Since Photobucket has actually been sued for selling photos. All of the sites have very similar wording and thy all basically "own" anything you upload. -
Lindberg Dodge A-100 Pick-up Coca Cola Truck
ra7c7er replied to Duntov's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
For 15 or less with the coupon I think this kit is probably pretty close to the best bang for buck model. Stock or drag parts, two complete engines, Two sets of wheels, a "real" spare, etc. I personally don't really care it doesn't have the Little Red Wagon decals. Three or four aftermarket places make them if you want them. Look at Revell's comparably priced models the "Classic Cruiser" line. One way to build it, no extras, etc. This kit is cheaper than some current snap kits. I say thank you to Coke for licensing another kit. Your licensing allows me to fill my "to build" shelves with interesting models for cheap. -
I think it is a licensing issue. Not only did ROG do two Tribants they did a whole series in slot car form with Tribants, NSU's and some other small car. When I was on the slot car boards their was a big deal with them not making a 2002 or 1600 to go with them. When that was going on a ROG rep said they tried but he wouldn't state what exactly was the issue that stopped them from producing one.

You should throw a few junker models in there for the frogs to play with. -

It's nice to you see you saving an old building and reusing the shelving. I sometimes like to think of myself as an urban archeologist (fancy term for someone that trespasses in abandon buildings) and those shelves and the building are so cool. Your stash has me envious. You really hit the trifecta with that space and everything.

That's really cool got to say though a bit more than a few years back. -
If only I could be so lucky. I have seen some cool cars in barns and estates but never anything worth that much or that cool.

The paint looks great. Nice build.

Stand to hold car while airbrushing
ra7c7er replied to rctori's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
With a bit of finish work on the stands and a different way to attach the parts your stands would make really cool stands for an "exploded view" model. -
Stand to hold car while airbrushing
ra7c7er replied to rctori's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have to say the Tamiya setup is the best. I personally use a block of wood with leftover styrene rod from parts trees on it, but I will be picking up the Tamiya stands when I can. -
Stripped down interior?
ra7c7er replied to cherokeered's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I would think they are scratch built as every car would be different. -
Display cabinet help
ra7c7er replied to Drake69's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
In my experience some places will and some places won't. I know Lowes and Home Depot will cut for you but the cut is going to be rough and they still make you buy the whole sheet of plywood even if you don't want it all. Have you thought about a wall hanging display for the models? -
You might not have had it in the sun long enough. Sometimes it takes a long while. and good light. Try leaving it outside for an entire day and see what happens. ---- I might pick up one of these for my nephew. I think he would have a blast with it.

Google is your friend. When hunting for race photos of a specific car it is best to start with what race that particular paint scheme was used in. That can makes your search so much easier. If you don't know what race but know the year do an image search for the driver and year (i.e. Rusty Wallace 2002) or whatever fits what you are looking for. If you know the name used for the car, in this case "Black Flame Car" you can use that too. If you don't have any of that information it's pretty much a hunt in and find with generic keywords (i.e. sponsor, car, driver, team, etc). the search "Rusty Wallace flame car" netted me this photo. Which oddly enough is the reference photo for the decal sheet from Mike's Decals.

I don't know anything about how accurate it is or isn't but it looks like a great model. Gregg - your finished model looks great and the color scheme is awesome. I don't know if it is just the angle of the photo or what but it looks like the front wheel is kinked oddly. Like the lower A-arm is disconnected or something.

That frame is crazy. I was just watching a episode of Lucas Oil On the Edge and they featured XRRA racers. Your frame looks like something they would use. Perhaps you are turning this into something like that?

Hopefully they keep the figure and tree in the kit. I think that right their is good for a few sales. -
