  1. Wow some of that is crazy.
  2. I agree, everyone was saying attendance was way down. The race was moved up in the year and the Slammers probably had the place rented long before they knew the new race date. Hopefully they can get a different weekend next year.
  3. I don't think it auto bids anymore (in relation to reserve price). It used to work like this. Buyer sets reserve at 100 Bidder bids 50 Listing then says - $50 reserve not met you are the highest bidder. What's the point in being the highest bidder if the reserve is higher. Reserve prices are stupid and annoying. As has been said if you want a certain price list it at that price. #13 Reserve price means item is five times higher than any reasonable price. Usually in the triple digit range.
  4. I actually forgot about "Pro built". I ignore those before I even click to see the description. I think it would be hilarious to see in the mag.
  5. 1. Description means nothing. So long at the parts inside the box look unbuilt I will list the item as new even if the shrink wrap has been removed and the box used for dart practice. Sometimes also I will list a kit as new that the is missing the decals or instruction sheet but is unbuilt. 2. I bought this at an estate and know nothing about models really means when you check my history I have listed hundreds of models and I have bought models too. In reality I list knowing nothing about models on kits I know are missing pieces but only small parts that are hard to check. 3. Looks to be complete really means the only parts in the box are body windows tires wheels and most of the engine. All the other parts don't really matter. 4. Great condition when listed with a single built up really means glue bombed mess that I built when I was 2 1/2. Also means over priced. 5. RARE (typed exactly like that) really means their are 57 other listings for the same model on ebay and mine is the most expensive. 6. Vintage really means reissue from 2008. 7. Hard to find really means you can go to any hobby shop and find it on the shelf new. Also means overpriced. 8. Selling my husbands models and know nothing about them really means I am charging way more than they are worth because I had to put up with them in my house for the last 10 years. Also means incomplete when listed with #3. 9. Last time listing really means I have listed this kit at hundreds over retail 26 times and am tired of listing it. Also means I will wait an extra 10 days to relist the item instead of relisting immediately. Also means if you buy this you are paying to much. 10. Sorry the photos are blurry my camera screwed up really means I am lazy. Also means I am trying to hide something. Can also mean my baby threw up in the box, then my dog ate half the box and parts inside and then my wife threw it out. Which means I had to pick it out of the trash just to list it. I could keep going but I will leave more up to you guys. Some of this is just a joke bu their is also a lot of truth to this.
  6. If you would consider doing a model in 1/32 scale their is a slot car company making them. And I'm sure their is some resin slot car guy making bodies at least their was a few years ago when I racing slots. I can't remember his site though. http://www.racer-emmegi.it/sideways/sideways.html
  7. lol. Sounds like my nephew.
  8. Really awesome. That is a Bimmer I would drive.
  9. First DON'T try to compare yourself to the big resin guys. You are not them. That is a big mistake that a lot of small hobby businesses fall into. Becoming a good resin caster is more than just having great parts. You have to have so much more. You have to have great customer service skills. The ability to defuse a potentially bad situation is a must. You have to have product that people want. You could cast the most accurate and detailed Yugo front seat ever in existence but who really is going to buy it. You have to always be advancing your product line if you only sell the same three or four things you will never grow. YOu have to brand presence which takes time. Right now the only people that know you are people from the forums you are on. If you have computer/internet skills start a legitimate website if you know someone that does website design have them make something for you. I know that costs money and you may not have the ability to do that yet but it should be in your mind. The biggest thing you need is the ability to push through the bad to get to the good. Everyone starts at the bottom embrace it and learn because once you start climbing your way up you will have less and less time to step back and think about your business. All in all probably the best thing you can do is, instead of comparing yourself to the top of the line resin guys, Look at other resin guys that have have failed and ask yourself some questions. Why did they fail? What did they do wrong? What can I do to avoid those issues? etc. You will always learn more from failure than success.
  10. That's really cool. I just watched a program on some channel called 80's tech and they did a whole thing on the Delorean. I didn't know you could still get a new/old Delorean today. Made from 0EM parts leftover from the factory in Ireland. For those that didn't know here is the website of the company http://www.delorean.com/index.html
  11. I'm trying to figure out what the axle/wheel is under the ramp. Is it to pull the car like you find at automatic car washes?
  12. I vote real. I finally voted soon enough that I didn't forget what I voted by the time I replied. I'm getting old.
  13. Congrats on the awards. I had a great time and thanks again for the grab bag. I just got home about 2 minutes ago and haven't even opened it yet. I won something too. I won a kite as an attendance prize. I think will like it, it's Lighting McQueen and his entire room is decorated that way. I know winning a kite over model kits is kind of lame but knowing my nephew is going to flip out is cooler than winning a model I would have never built. Are you going to head to our area in October for our big show?
  14. I will be in a lime/neon green Masters 100 racing shirt. You guys will have to find me because by the time I get up at 2 in the morning for the trip and drive to the show I will have forgotten everyone. Hope to see you all there.
  15. That is a 1/32nd scale slot car. Not an RC. Just letting you know. Really cool car though.
  16. I didn't say anything about putting a 3-cylinder in a Lincoln just saying they should work on making the least fuel efficient cars better than making already good cars better. Just another way to get around the rules.
  17. I can see the convo at a car show now. Guy 1 - Just bought my first Corvette Guy 2 - Oh really which one is yours Guy 1 - The silver new one Guy 2 - You mean the Solstice, that's a Pontiac Guy 1 - No man the silver Corvette on the end Guy 2 - You mean the Opal GT? Guy 1 - No No No the silver Corvette look right here on the key fob C O R V E T T E Guy 2 - (walks back to his original 53 covette, laughing) You enjoy your Saturn Oh Chevy you really need to wake up. But the people the Corvette is marketed to will eat it up for the price.
  18. That body is very nice. Must not have been owned buy kids when it was new, lol. They do make replacement tires/wheels. Contact professor motor and if they can't get you hooked up they will know who can.
  19. The local shop doesn't buy collections nor do they carry anything from other than Revell and R2 so I rarely ever find anything there that I didn't already know about. If I travel about an hour away I get to a shop that has those WOW factor kits every now and then though.
  20. Looks interesting.
  21. That's interesting. it's also interesting that they are planning to put a fuel efficient engine in a car that is already very fuel efficient. Seems like they are just going around in circles. Same with all the car companies though. Instead of making the the larger vehicles more fuel efficient they just continue to make the small already fuel efficient stuff more so.
  22. Tirerack.com is a great place to see what your potential rims will look like. I used them before I bought for my car.
  23. That stuff looks awesome. I will be picking some up.
  24. Those are great. The truck is amazing.
