  1. lol, Tower needs to get a hold of several hobby shops and buy some pink paint.
  2. If your tires have pad printed white walls I would think any cleaner would take the whitewall off. The printing can come off just by being scrubbed a bit with just water so any cleaners even the new, great for the environment horrible for it's intended purpose, cleaners will probably remove pad printing.
  3. Coming from a new modeler. I understand whole heartedly what you are saying. Sometimes it's hard not to try and do what many of you guys do. Those wild customs look amazing and I would love to try and copy them but I know it would only lead to frustration and failure. About the only custom thing I do right now is different wheels and maybe an engine swap but only if it is an easy fit and I can find wheels and tires that easily fit the model.
  4. info@round2models.com That's the email address I use. I generally get a reply in a day or so.
  5. On the note of the regular line paint starting to get scarce. Tamiya stopped shipping all of their paint a few months back. The reason why we are just now seeing some of the other paint not on the shelves is because the distributors are just now running out of it. The primer went first, then common basic colors (blacks, whites, blues, reds, etc) then the rest of the colors would start to disappear. I wouldn't doubt that in an extended absence from the market the only Tamiya paint we would see on the shelves is pink.
  6. I think it's pretty cool. I will be keeping an eye on this build.
  7. Nothing he is a feature driver. they will slap him on the wrist and tell him to keep the speed on the track. Now if it was Robby Gordon or any smaller time driver you would be looking a point fine or mandatory charity donation.
  8. Looks great. What made you decide on a resin hood?
  9. It looks 100x's better than the bumble bee one that was out a few years ago, but still no. Many of the same issues just with smoother lines. I don't know what it is but it Seems Ford, Chevy, and Dodge just seem to have so much trouble moving on from the Muscle car era. Trying to modify those designs to look more modern just makes them look silly. When Dodge did the Viper I thought they really were on to something design wise and every update just got better. Old cars are just that old cars leave them be and create something new.
  10. I tend to stay away from resin. To many fly by night operations. Why are you casting stuff to sell if you don't have the time to devote to it? I think these guys are from the get go just trying to bilk other modelers. If I want resin I will use on of the few major resin guys or someone I have seen active on forums. As for Dencon reading about him he seems to be the definition of fly by night. From what I have read on another forum he is selling resin kits on ebay that he already owes to prepaid customers. He claims on his website he is a part time caster doing it when he has time yet on other forums he says he is a full time caster and it is his only job. Oh and btw for you guys that are thinking about ordering from him still. On March 6th 2011 he was on the Resin addict forums saying he doesn't want to cast car stuff anymore. From Resin addict forums. If you have paid him using paypal I would file a complaint and get your money back.
  11. That's awesome. I have been trying to figure out what truck to put my camper on. Now I know I just need to make custom up myown. Doubt it will look as good as yours though. Great job.
  12. I saw two of these Camaros today while driving and I have to say I don't really like it very much. It looks fat and bloated, the roof looks smashed down, The wheels look cartoonishly big. It doesn't appeal to me at all. I don't even want to get started on the grille. As for the rest of what you pictured I like most of those very much.
  13. Looks sweet. I bet those guys are eatting that truck up. I used to race at Professor Motor and TSS.
  14. That's funny because when I vote I tend to do the opposite. I decide my answer then scroll to see others answers and by the time I reply myself I have forgotten what I picked. That's why I don't vote on the "Real or Not" threads anymore.
  15. I know they are expensive but you could get one of the Italeri trailers and scratch build the insides.
  16. I read the post but didn't vote or respond to the poll that was mentioned. For me it doesn't matter if the poll has an answer that fits me if the subject isn't something I am interested in I could care less.
  17. I like it so far. Working on the links will make it a great site. Your builds are really cool too, btw.
  18. My mom has friends in Joplin and hasn't gotten a hold of them yet but from what it looks like they live away from were the damage was worst. I know some people that were at Lucas Oil Speedway, in Wheatland Missouri, and they said the track sustained damage and several people were sent to the hospital from there and the surrounding area.
  19. Local flea market finds. Not nearly as many models as normal at the flea market this month. A big toy show in St. Louis had many peoples attention. The first photo all came from the same guy. He wanted to sell them in a lot I overpaid a bit for the Nascars but I really wanted the Thunderbird, Scuz-Fink, and the Duesenberg. The second photos stuff was just cheap and I thought figures would make a nice change of pace if I get burnt out on cars. The big find was the stuff in the third photo I pulled it out of the TRASH. I decided to get something to eat and I went to throw my trash away and saw the top of the decals box all I could see was "Rev" of Revell and pulled it out then I saw the cool old paint and the engine and wheel set. I couldn't believe someone would throw it away.
  20. That Bimmer is awesome. I didn't even know Revell did a 7 series.
  21. I was just wondering if anyone here entered this contest? It ends this upcoming week and even though it isn't a car related contest I figured someone would have posted something about entering either here or in the "other models thread". http://monstermodelreview.com/contestr2.html
  22. What exactly is the difference between ultra gloss and wet look. I can never tell a difference when I see finished models.
  23. I think a lot of that resentment stems from people seeing even modified diecast as just removing parts and swapping them around. i.e. - take one pre-assembled and painted engine out of a diecast and drop in a different pre-assembled and painted die cast engine and their you go you modified a diecast. Also a bit of it could be jealousy, think about how many diecast models get talked about here as a "I wish they would make _____ in plastic". Personally I don't care what you do. Die cast, hot wheels, slot cars, plastics, etc. If you are building it or modifying it great I want to see.
  24. I will be passing this on to the miniature guys I know.
  25. I personally enjoy all different articles in MCM. It's neat so see what other people are doing with diecast or out of the norm modeling choices. If we all built the same stuff this hobby would be pretty boring and it would make for a pretty boring magazine.
