Hey,,Nice color for that,,gonna do it OOB? or x-tra stuff? Great start.

Hey there,,thanks for the kind words,,its painted w/ "Painters touch" brand from the hardware store,,"Gloss Spa Blue" Just 1 coat of Flt Blk primer,,and 2 coats of the blue,,no clear coat over that, just as is. Its got decals for "woodgrain" for the inner panels{light tan colors}so Ill try to put those in,,I may trim the outer edges of the decals before install,,so they dont bungle up in all the corners. I was going to do this kit stock out of bx,,but I thought ,,I have alot of OOB kits done,,and wanted a street rod/strip// revised design car,,pretty much what I would do if I had the $$ to do 1:1 car,, so I tried my hand at chopping a bit,,experimenting ect,,got a scratch built 4 point roll bar done w/ padding for it,,just got to paint it. So,,its gettin there,,thanks for the visit! Happy Building

Not sure about this one,,you have alot more steps in your paint process than I do,,Ill remove flashing, pin nubs ect and sand body w 3 different grit papers,,clean with warm water/light dishsoap,,and blow dry with compressed air,,let dry for a couple hrs. Then prime w/rattle can Flt Blk most of the time,,sand with light paper,,paint again if needed{most of the time,,if i did a good job applying on the1st coat,,I leave it at that. { retains more crisp edges badge detail, trim around windows ect. } and let dry for 2 hrs or so,,then lightly blow off again,,and shoot 1 light coat of rattlecan color of choice,,let dry for 4-8 hrs,,do a "dust check" { look it over in the reflections of different light to find little specks of dust that may have landed on it} and if its cool,,shoot another coat ect. Then a clear coat a few days later if needed, let dry! -
If the store your going to is "current" as most hobby stores are,,they should have plenty,,maybe call them and see what they have?

Howdy all,,well Im thinking of spring coming soon,,summer soon after,,got in kindof a fair weather building mood on this one. Its kindof a WIP side project I work on from time to time. Its the AMT 41' Woody,,but its missing the back doors,,and its top,,and a Hemi somehow got in there,,other than that its somewhat stock. Engine is totally from the leftover prts bx's. As are the tires+ rims. Gonna do a 2 tone dark blue seat insets,,with the white interior. Made little floor mats for it,,kindof a summertime ride,,all I need now is the $$ for the 1:1 car! Cheers!

Hey all,,well,,,went into my local hobby store today,,and saw on the shelves,,the new release of the "Bugaboo",,and some of the other retrodeluxe issues,,but NO Ohio George Mustang! So talked to the team member of the store,,and he looked at his supplier web page that he gets his kits from,,and they revised the issue date of the OG Mustang to April 2014. AAAGGGHHH!! Now I dont know if thats really the case everywhere,,but it is at least for him/here. So,,if I can get it online,,or a swap meet I may have to do that. Or if anybody knows where to get it now,,let us know,,well buy ya a cheeseburger!.

Hey guys thanks for the info,,and visiting. Yea,,there was a experimenting period around this time of Drag racing thats for sure. I probably wont alter the wheel well placement,,I kindof like the Red car setup,,looks home built out of some privateer drag guys garage that nobodys ever heard of,,I think those type of builds end up being the wildest,,and interesting. I remember somebody on this board a while back built a really highly detailed Daytona Charger FC/Pro-mod type of car,,cant recall who it was but it was an Amazing Build. Ill have to keep lookin at stuff on the web,,BTW these pics are from Vince Putt Page on fotki,,hes got a huge collection of drag race pics,,Im not sure if he was a driver,,or builder? Maybe someone knows who he was /is? But by the time its all said and done,",there will be injection stacks sticking out of the lower windshield on this, a tilt nose frontend.,,,and that Iconic "wing" on the back of it"

Wow,,dig the color,,Im gonna have to try "opening" some trunks+ doors it adds a more real look,,nice job

Great looking car,,nice diorama also!

Howdy all,,,I was looking at this AMT kit,,69' Daytona Charger,,and wanted to do something a bit different with it. And I was looking at some late 60's Charger FC/AWB cars on the web,,and ran across these pics of some. Now,,when I look at these pics,,it appears that some of these were no more than stock Chargers { at least the red one, color pic,the other 2 BW pics look like full framed cars} w/some x-tra inner frame/roll bar work,,and its almost like they cut the front clips off and welded/attached ,,somehow,,a FC subframe to the front clip area,,not sure really how they did it,,Ill have to research some more pics and see how they were really attached to front of car. I do have an injected 426 w/stacks ect for this build,,so it may be fun to try this. Heres some pics,,happy building!

Thats way cool,,the backdrop pics worked real well,,if you hadnt mentioned it,,I would have never known it wasnt a real location pic
-
Wow,,nice ride! I really like the color+ the mag inset painting for the rims

We salute you and your service,,and welcome to the site! -
Sometimes your image size will affect whether or not it will load. And ,, if I want to post something from the web,,Ill download it to my desktop,,and upload to any site,,and I store ALL my pics that Ive taken with my camera{ models ect whatever} and after I load them to my puter,,Ill store them all on thumbdrive storage unit, and a CD ,as well as EVERYTHING on my puter,,just to have a backup in case the puter crashes,,not that it ever has,,but man you dont want to lose yrs of model pics, programs,,virus software,,ect,,ect.

Mistakes? where are those?,,I dont see any,,nice build!

Thanks for the kind words,,ya know,,if I spent some real time on it,,it could be made into a " drivable" car,,the headers would have to re-routed 1st,{ little warm to the front seat riders where they exit now,,lol} maybe some larger tires,,,a windshield of some type. It might work,,thanks for looking.
