  1. Sweet look to this,,look forwrd to more pics
  2. Thanks Hemi,,,just a different version. Thanks for visiting
  3. Whoa1 diggin your version,,,Ive never built it,,Im waiting for the malco mustang,,but this cuda would be a good one also
  4. Greetings from Motown!,,just finished this "Woody". Its kindof what you might call a "GT" package if it were ever to be offered back in the day,,lol. Lots of scratch built stuff,,no after market parts on this,,just leftovers from the junk bxs. Some of the pcs were missing when I got the kit{ swap meet kit} so had to use the thunderbird tire cover in back,,different rear bumper, turn signals on front fenders, scratch built,,And the mtr is some hemi out of a prostock kit,,have no idea which one. Tinted the windshield + wing windows blue Scratch built visors,,roll bar,,seatbelts. I really like the AMT kit supplied " woodgrain" inner panel decals for the sides,,nice feature. They went on with no problems. Its a bit different than the stock version,,but what a fun version it would be to drive!
  5. Thanks Belugawrx,,,I used band-aids,,the type that are cloth,,not the plastic ones,,and the wraps on the foam padding are electrical tape.
  6. Thanks CSchick,,mmits my fav vette body style,,great kit to build,,really no probs with it.
  7. Lookin good so far,,fun kit to do thats for sure
  8. Whoa! great car there!
  9. Howdy all,,finally got to do some experimenting w/the body work,,not sure if this will be final design,,got to putty +sand corners and such. The wing on the trunk deck will have an extra 2 blades inside it,,matching the profile of the exsisting top blade,,may have to make them adjustable,,gotta be able to tweak the downforce! LOL..Will have to do alot of filling +sanding on the lower side of nose pc,,the kit came with these things called " body fillers" little panel type things,,but no matter how you put them on,,doesnt quite get it. Ill just fill+sand putty And a tilt nose front,,if possible,,and the back 1/2 of body will lift up also, like a FC,,so well see where it goes happy building!
  10. Sweet! Nice job on a great car to do.
  11. Awsome! love the colors!
  12. Always a fan favorite! I havent done a willys in a long tiime,,cool build thats for sure
  13. Hi all,,so ,,ok heres starting point, A,,,,Im gonna use a Willie Borsch chassis, and x-tra roll cage add ons to it ect. ,Cut the frame right at the firewall,,and will have to fab,,or use leftover front section of borsch chassis, for frame work in the engine bay area, and a straight front axle,,the shock set up off the borsch car should work{ it looks similar to the red car setup} . Now,,the black lines on the charger body are where Im chopping it off,,and gonna do some "custom" body work,,lol. Similar to the Beach City Vette FC,,but different. Driver in the center of chassis. And cut the front clip out for one pc tilt front end,,if the nose front allows clearance when tilted forward,,itll be close. And a 426 Injected Hemi of course.,,with giant injector stacks,,lol Cheers
  14. Thanks for the views/kind words ,,yea it will be a bit of research to figure out how to do this,,probably a purpose built chassis that runs thru the entire length of car,,,,and with the tubbing work over the back wheels,,driver would be in the center,,etc. chopped/ lowered top,,++ , but have the stock firewall, with some frame supports coming from the top of firewall down to front lower chassis,,and a tilt nose front end. Gotta finish my 41 Woody first! LOL Thanks for visiting.
  15. Awsome!
  16. Thanks Bartster,,pics are easy,,use the link insert icon at top of post bx,,should work ok. Got a bit more done,,firewall, radiator+elec fan,,hoses. Still need to smooth things a bit,,and final detail paint. Its gonna be able to display w/body on or off. Roll bar worked out good,,used 1/16th scale parts sprue frames with the curves in it,,works cool for roll bar builds. And slipped some larger dia tubing over the roll bars,,and wil paint Flt blk after roll bar paint dries. Gonna make some belts for seats. should be a cool one for the shelf,,thanks for visiting!
  17. Looks like it works to me,,dig the rims
  18. Hey,,Nice color for that,,gonna do it OOB? or x-tra stuff? Great start.
  19. Hey there,,thanks for the kind words,,its painted w/ "Painters touch" brand from the hardware store,,"Gloss Spa Blue" Just 1 coat of Flt Blk primer,,and 2 coats of the blue,,no clear coat over that, just as is. Its got decals for "woodgrain" for the inner panels{light tan colors}so Ill try to put those in,,I may trim the outer edges of the decals before install,,so they dont bungle up in all the corners. I was going to do this kit stock out of bx,,but I thought ,,I have alot of OOB kits done,,and wanted a street rod/strip// revised design car,,pretty much what I would do if I had the $$ to do 1:1 car,, so I tried my hand at chopping a bit,,experimenting ect,,got a scratch built 4 point roll bar done w/ padding for it,,just got to paint it. So,,its gettin there,,thanks for the visit! Happy Building
  20. Not sure about this one,,you have alot more steps in your paint process than I do,,Ill remove flashing, pin nubs ect and sand body w 3 different grit papers,,clean with warm water/light dishsoap,,and blow dry with compressed air,,let dry for a couple hrs. Then prime w/rattle can Flt Blk most of the time,,sand with light paper,,paint again if needed{most of the time,,if i did a good job applying on the1st coat,,I leave it at that. { retains more crisp edges badge detail, trim around windows ect. } and let dry for 2 hrs or so,,then lightly blow off again,,and shoot 1 light coat of rattlecan color of choice,,let dry for 4-8 hrs,,do a "dust check" { look it over in the reflections of different light to find little specks of dust that may have landed on it} and if its cool,,shoot another coat ect. Then a clear coat a few days later if needed, let dry!
  21. If the store your going to is "current" as most hobby stores are,,they should have plenty,,maybe call them and see what they have?
  22. Great model to do,,I have alot of those 90's nascar kits,,fun to do,,nice job on yours!
  23. That chassis is a work of art,,its got a great stance to it this will be cool
  24. Howdy all,,well Im thinking of spring coming soon,,summer soon after,,got in kindof a fair weather building mood on this one. Its kindof a WIP side project I work on from time to time. Its the AMT 41' Woody,,but its missing the back doors,,and its top,,and a Hemi somehow got in there,,other than that its somewhat stock. Engine is totally from the leftover prts bx's. As are the tires+ rims. Gonna do a 2 tone dark blue seat insets,,with the white interior. Made little floor mats for it,,kindof a summertime ride,,all I need now is the $$ for the 1:1 car! Cheers!
