  1. Thanks LJ,,Im wondering if anyone will know what the body shell came from? Its from a well known kit from the 60's,,,, starts with an S,,,and ends with a E.
  2. Ok,,so I had a few leftover parts in my bxs,,couldnt decide what to do with them,,now,,do ya ever just take some stuff and bash+ see what happens? This car would never work as a real car with out some major work,,but its fun to look at,,IMO. Just for fun.
  3. Love those british road racers,,Ill take that Jaguar off your hands if you dont want it,,lol Nice job on your Austin.
  4. Really nice job,,love the wrinkle on the slicks!
  5. Very nice,,love the color
  6. Awsome car,,did you make the decals? This will be really cool for sure
  7. Hey thanks all for kind words,,,as far as racing it transam,,maybe I was thinking in the nostalgia class,{ IE: some of the early open cockpit cars with bug deflectors as windsheilds} ,not so much current style,,and yea,,to road race it ,,you would need to remove blower setup,,install reg intake+ carb. And Put matching style tires on it,,not the drag slicks that are on it now. And the AA/C decal,,I put that on there because I didnt have any SCCA or decals related,,I put leftover decals from the x-tra bx on it,,in fact Im not really sure what class AA/C is? Double A fuel competition? Not sure,,but its all I had to work with on a limited budget. Overall,,its kindof an experimental crossover car,,thanks again for the kind words.
  8. Look forward to this one,,always a great show. The last one was great,,thanks for posting

  11. Great job on a great car,,I agree that this is one of the most overlooked MC's from the era,,nice job
  12. Love the color,,and the overall build,,Those decals work perfect over that color,,nice job. How bout some engine shots?
  13. Yea,,I thought about that,,you got a point there. Im just experimenting w/background images w/the pics,,Im trying to do a dragstrip diorama so it all looks a little bit more easy to the eye, There are more pics on my PB page that arent quite so busy,,but thanks for the input.
  14. Thanks Cobra,,theres alot more pics of it on my PB page,,I didnt want to overload this post. Theres engine pics,,interior ect. Thanks again,,happy building!
  15. "Painting w/Q-tips" lol I hear what your saying,,I used to do that myself. It looks like a fine re- start to building as much as I can tell. Those Daniels Monogram kits are soo much fun to to,,ya know,,,I dont have this one,,Ive got others,,maybe Ill have to get this one. This build looks great to me,, Welcome back to the hobby!
  16. Great stuff there,,I wish those were still run today in races as much as they used to be.
  17. Those rims are perfect for that,,great looking car!
  18. Hi all,,heres my version of the 1/25th Revell 68' vette,,,,I did it as a combo car,,drag/Tran-am style,,sortof like you could use the car for either style. I did a few mods to it,,different windshield, rims + tires, scratch built roll bar,put wing on the trunk deck. Side pipe headers are from the spare parts bx. Put different headrests on seats. Other than that its the stock kit. Just a different spin on the Vette,,thanks for looking,,and happy building!
  19. Thanks all for the kind words,,its decent build,,did have to use the dremmel on a few things to get it to fit right,,I actually got the kit for the X-mas tree light set that was in it for the upcoming drag strip diorama in the works. Thanks for looking.

  22. Looks great for not building for a long time. I restarted building in a similar manner as you,,I bought 1 kit,,from being out of it for 20+yrs,,,17 yrs ago,,and I couldnt stop after that 1st one . But I wouldnt trade this hobby for anything,,I do enjoy other hobbies,,,music,,landscaping,,auto modification/race prep,,but I always do modeling everyday. Keep on building!
  23. Man,, all you guys here build such great stuff, this being no exception,,Ill have to get an airbrush someday and see what I can do.
  24. Thanks for the kind words,,@DM,,yea the trunk deck wing looked a bit bizzare for this year,,but it was the only one that I had,,it seemed to fit ok,,so I went with it. @ crazyjim,,that setting is the base for the drag strip diorama I have in the works,,its just a 2 ft shelf pc,,with plastic sheet I got at the CNC shop I work at,,and made the gaurdrail + stuff on it out of leftover parts. You guys build some great stuff also,,stay warm
  25. Dug the color,,,nice build.
