  1. That, Bill, is but one of numerous reasons why I consider every technical element you bring to this forum to be valid. You know of what you speak.
  2. My HS geometry teacher was an extra in that movie. He was going to college in NM where they were filming when they put out a call for extras. Tom Loughlin was nobody at the time and he wondered what made the short bossy guy such a big shot on the set. Didn't take long to find out.
  3. That was the obvious choice, but I wanted to cut corners and not dwell on the interior too much. Truth is though, I'm not satisfied with how it looks and since most of it is in plain view I think I'm going to redo it. Every inch of that T-Bird is an inspiration so I'll have to raise the bar a tad.
  4. Thanks Doc. Once this get into full gear, I believe our little Utopia will become a destination. Sort of a Mel's Dineropolous.
  5. That did turn out pretty good. I guess I wasn't aware there was a snap kit of this in that scale. A little BMF or Alclad II in select areas would help dress it up but otherwise nice attention to detail and color choice.
  6. My power plant doesn't require the kit's turbine exhaust, but there's a recessed placement area for it. Rather than just fill it in I'd like to add some texture to the body I burnished some tape into the recess with a pencil... ...then laid the tape on some sculpting screen and just trimmed it to the shape of the marks. Pressed it firmly into the space and superglued. This will be painted body color, maybe with a wash. Mostly I just wanted a little texture to add interest.
  7. The Cherry Bomb dash is sparse with dated and thinly engraved details including a large "65" which I suppose is the speed. It's actually begging to be detailed and I considered the nacelle of a '57 Chevy dash, but to move this along I just added a parts box guage cluster, buttons and a canopy release. It would be easy to overdo it but I think a utopian car shouldn't be complicated to operate.
  8. I guess when you're a king... Very clever. Thanks for the chuckle.
  9. What the..........?!?! ROTFLMAO
  10. I know I'm turning the screws on you John, but I have all the confidence you'll pull an all nighter to get in under the new deadline.
  11. Agreed. They all look excellent. The only flaw on Andretti one is there's no damage.
  12. x2. Plus if we need more spots they can just continue into the next post. Crude, but achievable.
  13. Thanks for the extra shots. I'm impressed, not just with the engineering but the research.
  14. You're an artist Ken. Not just the body work but the graphics choice too. Good energy on this.
  15. John, that rod is downright sexy. I love the subtlety of the lines. If you get the gumption to continue with it I'd love see where it goes. But that T-Bird is something else. I shudder to think of the time you invested. I only mention that because the level of care and imagination shows. Any hidden details worth showing? And Richard.... That Dodge is killer. Talk about a picture being worth a thousand words. That so perfectly captures the heart and soul of what I would like to acheive myself. Very, very exciting
  16. I think all your options mentioned will look fine. It might only cause pause if the top and panel were, say, flat and the rest glossy. That said, I rarely critique artistic choices because there's room for all interpretations.
  17. I've gotten that. I've assumed it's a photo protection feature. I resave the file with a different name then upload to photo hosting site but if Bill's right I probably don't have to do that.
  18. I sent a note to Dave Ambrose a couple days ago inquiring what the polling options could be, whether the software permissions could be altered on a case by case basis or what they would recommend. Hasn't gotten back as of yet.
  19. First an apology for letting this thread lapse. This has been an impossible year for me to model. That said... I've extended the deadline to the year 2525. What kind of thread about the future denies itself that very future? Jacen has gone away and apparently all his posts went with him. But this subject is very much alive and I invite all of you to continue dreaming about futures seen and not yet seen. Please re-read the invitation on page 1 and unleash your creativity. There's a bulge in the body below the Cherry Bomb's turbine engine that had to be leveled or it made problems for my new future engine. This is the "engine" that I scrounged from a bin at a flea market. The body had to be opened up to make room for it. There will still be some plumbing to add, just have to come up with something convincing. I've mocked up a rear fender and would like to use some aspect of this piece of Transformers thingy as a drive arm for the hubless wheel. Go ahead and jump in brothers and sisters of the plastic. All are welcome in Utopia.
  20. Talk about breathing life into a tired and dated kit. It takes a special patience to make that chassis sing. Really nice work all the way around.
  21. I always like the stuff you bring to us to look at. Another great looking Fairlane.
  22. That profile shot is killer.
  23. Too bad about the windshield and hood, but I think paint looks great. I don't see any issues. Love the body work, nice conversion.
  24. Reminds me of a John Cleese quote comparing British sports to American sports... "When we hold a World Championship for a particular sport, we bother to invite teams from other countries to play, as well."
