  1. A belated congrats to Pat, Nick and all those who outraced the other noble contenders. For all those who didn't make it to the start line, if you choose to finish them I'd sure like to see a final shot here of how they ended up.
  2. I'm off hand drilling. A chuck similar to this in a (small) cordless screwdriver is unbeatable. It turns slow enough for careful drilling and you're less likely to bust the little buggers from too much hand waggle. The image is from Micromark but some hardware stores have something similar.
  3. I guess I'll stake my ante. With a nod to Niko, I'm in with a '69 Torino. Just not a Talladega. Looking forward to starting Jan. 1st.
  4. I think computer modeling has improved forecasting data, but the meteorologist still has be skilled at interpreting it. Too many media forecasters just "plug and play." The good ones, and there are some, are true weather enthusiasts who do their own analysis and professional enough to explain their degree of confidence if they don't have enough info to make a concrete prediction at air time. Maybe cut down the celeb appearances.

    My deuce

I particularly like the height of all the elements ahead of the firewall and how it all fills the space. Something similar is my plan for my own 13-year stalled '32. Nice work.
  6. May be a good example of why it might be better to link your images from a photo hosting site like Photobucket rather than attaching them here. That way your account doesn't take the brunt of the data storage, another site does. Once you've loaded your photo to the hosting site, you just copy and paste here. From a more selfish point of view, attachments aren't visible to viewers unless they are signed in members. Sometimes I'm checking in from another computer (like at work) and don't want to sign in. I can't see your pics and neither can non-registered members. Linked images everyone sees.
  7. This is so nice. They are all beautiful and sentimental. Like a photo out of a day in the life of 1978.
  8. Yeah, pretty sweet. It's been kickin' around a while, I've had this in my reference folder for a year or two. Credits and due diligence to Aaron Beck • Beck Kustoms. Great work.
  9. This is one of the ones that brought me to that page.
  10. Superior. That's it.
  11. With so much discussion of 'Cudas and Challengers this may have been posted somewhere already and I've missed it. If not here are 113 awesome, high resolution graphic depictions of almost any conceivable interpretation of your Plymouth Dodge E-body. http://ebodies.blogspot.com/
  12. One obit I read referred to his role in "The Last Emperor" as a cameo but it was played exactly right and gave the scenes an enjoyable depth. I finally bought Lawrence of Arabia after getting sucked into it every time it came on TCM or cable, regardless of how far into it I joined. ...And then there was "Caligula" Ohhhhh Pete.
  13. The flaw here is "find some women." If it's from my stash, I guess I'm starting with $8. Seriously, if you're this kid, you may recall he started with a donated cell phone and ended with a used Porsche Boxter in 24 moves.
  14. Erik you need to head 12hrs east. Do you realize the median income in the new oil patch is $95,000? You gotta work long hard weeks but if you already work those hours it might pay off for you. There's such a demand, employers wait at the train station for people to arrive. Of course, the cost of living is criminal but still worthwhile. For this exercise a second job consideration is on the plate, but the 'GF challenge' requires that I not be away day and night. So a second job (for only 8 weeks) is possible but it would need to be done mostly from home. Thoughts?
  15. Probably the most authentic looking version of this I've seen.
  16. My theory is some people are doing it, but it's not sustainable. So not really viable income but a nice shot in the arm. Does anyone think intense up-trading could result in a $9G gain in 8 weeks?
  17. Way ahead of you there, but I'm on a pretty short leash on the wrong side of the state. Which is exactly what's happening. No worries about the relationship, we're in it for life. But there'd be less bile if we didn't have to go through this every year.
  18. I already am, which is what creates the problem, I'm part of it. Out of respect I won't get into details, but her degree is animal science and the stressor would be equivalent to something like, say, constant care livestock in the house. This actually occurred to me. Love it.
  19. My GF has thrown down the gauntlet and challenged me to find a way to make $9k in 8 weeks. I'm looking for creative, plausible ideas that are attainable, legal, low risk, family friendly and doesn't require advanced professional career training/experience. The back story is once or twice a year she makes about 9-grand in 8 weeks but it's very disruptive to the household and batters the relationship. She needs the money, but said if I could find a way to do the same, she'd quit her project. Since this is purely brainstorming, I welcome any zany concept because any creative thought can inspire a tangent idea. If it was you blathering with a friend over beers, what idea or combination of ideas would you consider?
  20. Thanks for all the hard work Nick. With voting figured out the path has been paved for next year. Sorry my car couldn't be one of the pictures above but the race is on. Now we wait to see who crosses the finish line first.
  21. That, Bill, is but one of numerous reasons why I consider every technical element you bring to this forum to be valid. You know of what you speak.
  22. My HS geometry teacher was an extra in that movie. He was going to college in NM where they were filming when they put out a call for extras. Tom Loughlin was nobody at the time and he wondered what made the short bossy guy such a big shot on the set. Didn't take long to find out.
  23. That was the obvious choice, but I wanted to cut corners and not dwell on the interior too much. Truth is though, I'm not satisfied with how it looks and since most of it is in plain view I think I'm going to redo it. Every inch of that T-Bird is an inspiration so I'll have to raise the bar a tad.
  24. Thanks Doc. Once this get into full gear, I believe our little Utopia will become a destination. Sort of a Mel's Dineropolous.
