I really like how you educate us on the subject you have built, Make's your work that much better in my eye's. All the various medium's used result in a very realistic model, you don't seem to be afraid to work with other material's beside's styrene. When I saw the hand rail's I said no way he bent them, but I was wrong......that to me look's extremely difficult. Well done Harry. -
AMT M&H Racemaster Dragster Slicks & Parts Pack Tires
krazyglu replied to Gregg's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I only paid 13.59$ at my LHS for the #002, not really sure why they were so much cheaper than what you guy's are seeing. I saw the #003 Slick's last time and have yet to pick them up. Never can have to many nice tire's and wheel's. -

Wow now that is a stunning rig you built there. I love the finished picture's ,but thank you for sharing the in progress shot's. Those tank's look really nice, so do the strap's. I was wondering what you used for the side stack's? Really nice job, thank's for sharing. -

Nice setup you got there, that trailer looks awesome. -
I enjoy seeing all your build's John and this one is no exception. The paint fade looks really good. I like Tony because he can drive the wheel's off anything he get's in.

Not suprised at all you have a clean model ,but 24 hours......That is insane Tommy. -
anyone intrested in lowboy trailers
krazyglu replied to clavender17's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That thing is wicked looking, I am working on a Pete that will need a trailer someday. A detachable front end low boy sounds really cool. -
Look's awesome Bill, I really like the paint scheme on this car and I have no idea how you made the decal's work. The underside is really nice looking as well, great job on a rough kit.

What a center piece, this would definately look cool in any race shop. -
Thank's Antonio I know for sure you like the style, Marcos your one of my favorite builder's and I really apperciate the compliment. Jason believe it or not I use sharpies, I always scribe all my panel line's out which help's make a harder edge to drag the marker along, it also makes the lines more realistic once your paint has filled them. I use a chisel tip sharpie, has to be a chisel tip for me then I may go back and touch up a few spot's with a broad tip. After all the trim is complete I may go over it with a flat black acrylic wash or use my weathering powder's. All this does is tone down the shine of the sharpie. Trust me I have messed up and went outside of the line many times my friend haha. Now what I found extremely hard on this particular build was the molding piece at the top of the front bumper, that was freehanded with a 005 Fine point felt tip marker and proved to be a bit of a challenge for me. Thank's again for the kind word's guy's, the next Porsche I have in my stash does have a engine and opening storage compartment so there will be plenty more detail.

Word's can't describe how cool this is, I love these IMSA car's and have the Whistler Mustang to build someday. You did a awesome job on this kit.

" I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bullcrap. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free." haha I'm sorry I had to. Seriously I think it's a great idea and it took you no time plus you got to try something different on a spare kit....win win win.

Hey thank's Jason, To answer your question's about the wheel's. I believe these to be the 19" sleeves and the tire's from Pegasus as well, I don't know that for sure though. I had to sand the inside of the sleeve's to get them to fit right. I had to go even further on the front's one's so I could make that lip appear to be smaller. I just like the staggard look on a rear wheel drive car. I have pictures and can give you more info if you need it. Don't worry about it Ace, CAL, or Ima whatever ha you guy's don't rub me the wrong way at all and you guy's didn't bad mouth my build what so ever. I just think you guy's are getting a bit tech. about a model kit, What a Porsche guy technical..?? haha
-
Thank's for all the input CAL, no offense ,but I never really asked for it. I don't care about 1:1 car physic's right now, I mean if that's the case how about the lack of brake's....??? Suppose it wouldn't stop as well as a factory 911...pardon me 964 eithier lol. Simply put....... 1) I like model kit's 2) I like Porsche's 3) I like the wheel fitment/stance craze Thank's for commenting and checking out my build guy's, it's cool even if it's not your style you can apperciate the work that went into it.
-
I like the teal wheel's, I think they fit the car a little better, I want some of those sticker's.
-
Haha oh boy this is the most popular build to date for me, thank's for all the comment's everyone. I understand the extreme camber look is left much to be desired by many of you, that's no big deal we all have thing's we like and don't. I also realize that a factory 911 would handle so much better than the car I modeled....believe or not I am not to worried about that haha. The amount of grip lost due to contact patches on the tire's, the extreme lowering....the list goes on and on why it would handle like a pig ,but I built a race car 911 that I think look's cool and really there is no logic to it. Thank's for the intrest and comment's again guy's.

I finished this up last week, it is the Fujimi Porsche 911 RSR. I used model master steel metalizer with a sealer for a satin silver look. I painted the interior black chrome trim and the seat flat red. The belt's are colored paper strip's and hardware made out of styrene. The steering wheel is from the part's box with styrene steering hub and I made a custom racing shifter. The wheel's are modified Model Scientist BBS center's in Pegagus sleeve's, I gave them a staggerd look and used model master metalizer's/tamiya acrylic's for paint. I went with correct German plate's good month's April-October and also added tow strap's front/rear. The insane amount of camber may seem stupid to most of you ,but I love the slammed down look and how the wheel's flow with the fender's right down to the ground. Thank's for looking

krazyglu replied to Chaser's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Wow that is a really nice rig, I am trying to build something very similar in a day cab version. Your's is sitting just right, how did you go about lowering it? I like the full fender's and all the custom touches on this...that stack's look perfect as well. -
John your build's are quite popular and for darn good reason. You really are a amazing builder which lead's me to my next question. Without being nosy do you build car's or at least do custom paint job's for a living? I saw your post about building this next in your '53 Ford F100 post, if you guy's did not see John's custom pick up please do yourself a favor and go to the truck section. Keep it up John you inspire us all.

You did a really nice job on the paint work. The wheel's/stance look's perfect. -
Ha I had the same thing happen to me at a local paint/part's house, I never wen't back. I like the color anyway and the ipod is a really cool touch. I personally think the rear camber should match the front, but you like it and that is what count's. Nice build.
