Milwaukee NNL 21 - April 13th, 2013 Waukesha, WI
krazyglu replied to Casey's topic in Contests and Shows
I just can't stop drooling over these build's, awesome job to all who entered. I am with you Nick, I have some East Coast buddie's so making the NNL East in New Jersey would be cool, but the NNL Nats in Sylvania is going to be the most realistic one for me. Thank's again for all the picture's guy's. -

922 Model's!!!! My jaw just hit the floor, I have got to make it to one of the NNL show's at some point in my life. I couldn't look at 922 model's in 6 hour's I don't think. I am on page two so far and eye candy indeed. -
Here are the picture's I took, some are out of focus and I missed a bunch. http://s1256.photobucket.com/user/1illdub/library/Cincinnati%20Challenge%2018

Yeah I did get a bit bummed because I too entered three model's in the tuner class and there were only four car's total so it would have been cool to try and get a 1st place.....on the same note I am 28 year's old and build model's 365 day's a year so this one day show is way more about me seeing everyone else's work. Everything else is more fun and of intrest to me besides the actual award(which I won my class last year) so I won't let that stop me from going again. Now saying that, this year's level of build's was up and over all I felt like there were a bunch more model's. Just seem's like a bad year to cut back on award's ,but hopefully they will correct that next year.

Thatis cool looking, the handle bar's do look better lower. I like the light's you added, sure would like to see some better picture's of them in the dark. -
I had a great time this year and the quality of model's was just insane. That is quite funny you guy's mention the award's as that was my only gripe of the event. They did have it posted on there web page that there would only be top ten and four other award's and when I saw that I was bummed since last year they had 1st-3rd in all 20 something catagories. I think at least for the beginner and junior catagories there should be award's for all entries....they are kid's and I think it would be neat for all entrant's to place. I believe there were just way way too many amazing model's that did not get a plague or trophy and I really hope next year they go back to there older format. I wan't to say thank's to C.A.R for throwing a fun show, all the vendor's, the really nice man and lady cooking us food ,and my Pop's for enjoying this fun hobby with me....see ya guy's next year.

Those are looking good, I really didn't get into street racing( way to much stupidity)..of coarse I am 28 and the world is much different now. I like the story and the fact that you get to remember the "glory day's" as you recreate your friend's car's.

Man I like the stuff you build, Is this one 1/43rd? Do you use a 2 part clear or a 1 part? I ask because I have to clear coat a set of decal's and your result's are fantastic. I like the blue quote in your sig.

This thing looks like a nasty little street machine...I really like those deep dish wheels in black. I'm no photographer by any means, but I have a few tips for you. The lighter backdrop is definitely better for that color car, I have seen black or dark backdrops work, but it is a tricky thing to make work. Also you want your light source to be behind you, not directly over you either. What that does is get rid of the shadows around the bottom of the car. Experiment like your doing, I even made a cheap backdrop holder so I can switch the color of paper easy.

I love Porsche`s, I drove one and it was quite fun. I actually use a chisel tip black Sharpie marker to do trim, it's still difficult but you get a much sharper edge easier.

That looks really good, minty is good.

Clear coating MM Metalizer paints
krazyglu replied to Jerry Norton's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I use metalizers religiously, they lay down so nice and almost dry instantly. I often use the testors sealer over my metals...to me it is very convincing. I have also used dull coat and wet look clear. I also have yet to find a glossy clear that keeps the shine...mostly when covering alclad chrome. Alclad has there own clear that I believe I will try next, has anyone tried the alclad clear coat? -
Wow that is stunning.

Really nice bike! -
The carbon fiber car, I like the tucked in front tire's. Another one of your awesome build's Tommy.

I think the pink clashes with the gold, I would maybe paint the pink areas the dark purple that is on the top and pin striping.

Wow, that is just cool Blair. Thank's for the larger picture's. -
Thank's for kind word's everyone. Harry I thought it looked pretty spot on in some of the picture's I took ,but to hear you say it really mean's a lot. This was my first bike and first 1/12 scale build, I enjoyed it possibly more than anything else I have built yet. I learned a bit researching the subject and I believe the Honda RC166 will be my next build, kind of a tribute to Mike "the bike" Hailwood.
