'86 Iaconio Motorcraft/Budweiser P/S build
krazyglu replied to MitchP's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Looks great so far, I love the 80's era of drag racing. -
Thanks for the great pictures guy's.
-
Transbrake looks awesome James.
-
Dave you are truly a artist, amazing work.
-
James don't sweat the pictures dude, I am just busting your chops. Judging by your building I am sure your aware of how all this works, I was having issues with my digital camera and photobucket at one time. Thanks Scott I figured the pictures may help out somone if not James, I know the JukeBox setup inside is probably quite different than our bracket car. I am going to be picking up a JukeBox as soon as I see one on the shelf at the LHS, I would love to have the Christine Pro Mod, I just can't pay 40$+ on Ebay for one. Christine is the first kit I remember building with my Dad, he put all the decal's on the red plastic body for me....I still have it in pieces to this day. Keep at it James, it is looking great.

If i am not mistaking both of those cars have been wreaked at least once and built again......those things are completely nut's looking ripping down the track.
-
Here is a picture of the setup on our race car, now this is actually a line lock not a trans brake ,but the button's look the same. There is a red button for the front wheel's to be locked for burnout, flip the toggle, stage and use the black button on the right to lock all four wheel's. I figured a small piece of styrene rod placed on the hole of the steering wheel spoke could be the button, for the back you could use a small piece of styrene strip to represent the back of the switch. The wire is kind of the main part as Mitch said, at least it is the most noticable, but I say you go all out and make the washer under the button and all.

Not that dumb at all James, simple enough fix and look's killer. My neck is starting to hurt though....where is that rotate picture function?...haha.
-
That is the nicest version of this kit I have ever seen built, the neons and base are a really cool touch.
-
Those wheel's are a work of art themselves. Look's really nice, is this 1/43?....I know I always ask you that. EDIT: I did myself a favor and checked out the build thread, awesome build and 1/24th scale.

Here's one I restored, a Jo-Han 1967 AMC Ambassador.

It's really cool that you bring back these kits and save them from certain doom. Very nice work. -

That is a kool build, I like all your touches, but the wheel's make it perfect. -
Marcos is really good for this, everything he builds looks good.

MISTER TWISTER Chevy II Nova..COMPLETE..12/01/13

Darryl look's awesome man, I loved the real one and your scaled version is looking spot on. Your chrome paint look's real good, Alclad? Those wheel's look like the same one's from my Monogram Kenny Berstein car, probably my favorite drag wheel of all time. -

That looks fantastic, this has always been one of my favorite looking planes, good info in here as well. -
WIP 84 Candies&Hughes funny car 1/24
krazyglu replied to MoparMark's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Mark thank you for the under body shot, you have convinced me I should do the same on my Kenny Bernstein build. That is a really awesome idea with the belt, I love using the plastic welder and you have now showed me another use for it...very cool. Again awesome build Mark -
MISTER TWISTER Chevy II Nova..COMPLETE..12/01/13

Darryl my Dad loves your builds and were both exciteded to see you replicate your old car. That thing is wicked looking and I am glad your going detailed rather than curbside. -
Wow that is a nice veiw.....what lake is that might I ask. I still have the first kit I built with my Dad..though it is in pieces haha.
-
That looks awesome, cool idea with the clean and dirty pictures.
-
James dude thing's are looking real good, I like the carb's. The fact that you aknowledge the slick's needing a lot of work comfort's me. Transbrake button is going to be a fun one, the one on my Dad's real race car is small so in scale it will be a difficult part to make. Keep up the good work.
-
Seems like you need to build it since 17? people have looked and no one has said yes. I thought it was a cool looking car, but thing's can get lost very quickly in 1/25 scale when you black them out. Here is the murder Nova for the many of you that had no idea what Wayne was asking haha.

That is a really impressive build, I am with everyone else....we need info. The Coughlins are real down to earth people, they have always been one of my favorite racing families.
