  1. That's wild, have you seen the guys drifting on motorcycles yet....crazy kids
  2. Yeah this is pretty much perfection in my eyes, staggered BBS wheels on a Porsche....does not get much better.
  3. ^Haha yes I feel you, look at the yellow lettering on the tires. David I have no clue how you thought or built this, but the paint is completely off the hook cool and this thing looks like a piece of art. I never feel the need to want someone else's model, but this one is a exception....I would love to have that displayed in my house. Awesome job!
  4. Those look wicked James.
  5. Ready to make some hot laps!
  6. I wont lie It would have looked stunning in the white and striped BMW color's, but for a "failure" this thing turned out really cool. Glad you ended up finishing it and sharing.
  7. Is that 55 gal drum full of scrap metal...? That is really cool. Nice idea after the decal problem.
  8. I saw the die cast ones at the swap meet for 30$, black or white, but I couldn't come off the $. I really want one and I like where this one is headed.
  9. There is a lot of talent out there, I would love to make it to this show one day. John's work is insane, I really like Art's sprint car and wow the Mura Brothers Willys pick up is just way to cool. Thanks for sharing
  10. I like the concept a lot and that is actually a huge thing in the customizing world. Often the VW guys pay a bunch of money to have the German bumper and trunk lids as well. I am glad you finally nailed it on this color, It looks good on this car.
  11. Looking good Bill, that interior is coming out real nice.
  12. Hey cool I am glad you fellas are liking this thing as much as me. I might have to take it down to the creek bed later and snap some clearer pictures. You guys would be amazed at what this little thing can crawl over. Ian I totally agree with you man and I believe that will be the next thing I add. I also want to change the roll cage/bumpers to more realistic dimensions.....thanks for the comments guys.
  13. Tommy that is well worth the drive man thanks for looking out for me, I will look into that They run the non wings across the river Lawrenceburg Indiana and that's where my dad saw the World of Outlaws years ago.
  14. Not exactly sure how you guys will take this since the bottom half is indeed a remote control car. I bought a 1/25 scale Losi 4wd Rock crawler and knew right away that I would have to adapt a model kit to get a realistic looking rig. I had this really trashed and hacked up Aoshima Toyota Four runner I got from a friend and I decided it would work out good. I cleaned it up and painted it, several different times as you can see I cut up the interior tub to make it fit and painted it also. I then added some gear such as the tow strap, gas cans and made a cooler. It is a fun little ongoing project that I can actually bring down to the creek and crawl with.
  15. Dude I love your mini bikes they are so cool. This thing is awesome looking...I love the model itself, but the luggage rack, window stickers and leaving the rear hatch open makes it stand out. Great job
  16. That's cool Ron I spotted some of the modifieds at a swap meet and I almost got one. The decals work very well on there, nice job.
  17. That's funny Jason I have never seen a sprint car in person, but my dad watched them many years ago. The only part he remembers is getting mud flung all over him I appreciate all the kind words guys. Here are a few more detail photos from the building stages, I also had this over in the work bench area.
  18. That is really really cool and it looks awesome after all these years. Great to see that something like this can survive, thanks for sharing.
  19. Looking good as usual Erik.
  20. Thanks Tommy It means a lot to have you comment on my work. I was told that these cars were constantly cleaned and wiped down at the track so I hardly weathered this much at all. Bill I happen to have some of the greenest grass in the neighborhood buddy, thanks for noticing I'm glad you appreciate the seat Mike as it was such a key piece In the build. I said I wish some things were different and making the top wing removable is one of those. I spent a ton of time detailing this kit and almost all of it was covered by the wing. I was bummed ,but you learn and make the next one better. Here is a picture of the seat with Pro Tech harness and some decals added
  21. I started this build at the beginning of February with the intentions of entering it in my first model contest last Saturday. I tried some new techniques out and made a good deal of modifications to get it to have a more modern look. I can definitely improve my next one in many ways, but I am very pleased and it would have to be my best model to date. I used testors one touch lacquer Diamond Dust for the outside and model master gloss black on the inside of the panels. The frame is model master fluorescent red...yeah It's definitely orange. I stripped all of the chrome and used the Alclad Chrome. I then used Tamiya acrylics over the Alclad to achieve the anodized look. The engine received some altered parts box items and braid/fittings, msd box from Charlie at Pro Tech. One of the biggest flaws with the Revell kit is the horrific bar stool of a seat. I had to address this issue and my great friend Bill Booz(JustBill) saved the day. Never even met Bill and he mailed me a seat from a '07 Monte Carlo Nascar kit all the way from Maryland. Bill is the reason I got hooked on sprint cars and thanks to him the seat with minor modification worked out awesome. Thanks to all of you on here for sharing pictures and techniques/ideas daily. That motivates me and teaches me all kinds of cool stuff. Keep Buildin'!
  22. You have absolutely nailed the stance and wheel fitment on this model kit. Its with out a doubt the best example in 1/25 scale I have ever seen. Do me a favor and keep doing what your doing. I would love to have some of those wheels if they are still being made....?..?.. edit: I decided to re read...http://www.modelscientists.com/
  23. I tried to listen when they were announcing the CAR members places and I never heard a single one of these cars mentioned...I might have missed it. The Mustang and blue 'vette were simply amazing.
  24. Wow gentlemen these Lowriders are looking bad as$. Is that a Duster lowrider I see being built......now that has my attention. Cool hands has the most perfect photo spot on the planet I mean your pictures are almost too perfect dude Bill nice job on the building the extra detail pieces, you went above and beyond on the grill and it will pay in the end. I had to do a similar treatment on the rear bumper of my '67 Chevelle, but yours took quite a bit more tape and patients. As Cranky says...."keep the eye candy coming".
  25. I think Niko pretty much sums this up.....we can't even tell what scale it is haha. Your work is incredible and I hope to use some of your parts some day. Thanks for sharing
