  1. Yeah have 4-6 weeks to get some things done. Not one of my better judgement nights.
  2. Clay thank you for your service my friend. Be safe and come home, once again.
  3. When I saw this print by Jarius I just knew I had to do it in 3-D. So thanks to Jarius for the print, and Chester Fesmire for suppling the 40 Ford, it will soon come to fruition. It's guys like these two gentlemen who make this such a great hobby. Along with 2 40 Fords that Chester sent me there was also a few other little (1/87th) cars, and truck cabs he sent. The wheels are turning once again. So being laid up or awhile, I guess it's back to the bench, as soon as I can get it reorganized after the home improvement project that had me move everything. Once again guys THANKS.
  4. first I have to locate the bench again. Some home improvements recently had me move everything. Also I've done a few of those designs, with out the chemicals.
  5. Rum, steep hill, pontoon trailer= 4-6 weeks of bench time. Had a small mishap last weekend, and cracked 2 ribs. Heck of a way to get bench time. Ended up with 2 cracked ribs, and a swollen ankle. All is healing well, great pain med's.
  6. Me too, I also have some of the patches.
  7. Ed glad to see therea re still a few of around. Hope they come in handy. junior

    1/8th Duece

Painted them on. Cut a stencil from masking tape, and used craft paint. This kit is not the newest re-issue but combonations of the last 3 issue's before the flathead kit. I still have that one yet waiting to be built. Junior Berg aka Mercman

    1/8th Duece

Here's what I started with. The end product. For comparison a 1/25th, and a 1/64th.
  13. Maybe this will help you out. Go to the link. http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a2/mercman51/DIO%20Book/ Also I think Phil Bass had a how to here on carving brick walls from the foam board. Check out the dio section, or the how to section. Here is Phil's post http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31222
  14. As stated above this is why I post. Being into HO scale not everyone can relate, so it's fun to see how people react to the amount of detail that can into them. I did 1/34-25th for many years, and just got burned out on the super detailing. That and having been building since the day's of the dinosaur's I just couldn't bring myself to pay the prices they get for the old kits I built many eons ago for $1.50-2.00. I look forward to the feedback I get when I post, both positive, and negative, and look for new ideas from the comments given. Junior aka Mercman
  15. Sam Barris Merc Here are some 1/64th for inspiration. or if you want to do a dio, add some weld lines to the roof, and put it in primers and stell to make a under construction display.
  16. Here is one for inspiration for you. This one was done by Hollywood Jim. I think a Pikes Peak car would be a neat idea. Either way would be good. Lot's of diorama possibilities here also.
  17. Cranky, you'd be pretty accurate to build a burnt up 80s to current F150... I see or hear about those catching fire a lot.
  18. It's a 2009 Whatyamacallit. I really like the realistic flame job on the Corvette model.
  19. Guys thank you all for your input. This will be the last in the series. On the tractor the POW MIA logo will be present once more. Also I do a special license plate for it also. I am goint to add this to the rear door of the trailer. To the Vets here on this board I appreciate all you did for the rest of us. I came close to being called (drafted) missed my number by 3. They cut it a 75 the year I was eligible, my lottery number was 78. So this is just a small way I can say thank you all for your service. I did try to enlist later, but was classified 4-F. My dad like many others was in WW 2, in the Navy, and my father-in-law was over in Europe in the Army. I have some friends listed, on the wall in Washington, plus I have worked with many of the Vet's from the Nam era. Once again thank you to all. Your debt can never be repaid in full.
  20. As some of you may know I design a tribute truck to be auctioned off on Veteran's Day each year. The proceeds go to the local Vet's club to help with the Memorial wall at the cemetery. This year may be the last of the series. Here is pics of the design I am considering for this year. Which do you think I should use? Here is apic of last years truck to give you an idea. Most of the Vets at the club are from the Viet Nam era, so the Marine statue could be done at a later date.

    New Shop

Well finally got the bodies glued together. On the left is the stock version, the right the modified one. Here I'm playing with some wheel, and tire combo's. Also got the base done. Here is the underside with lots of room for electronics, and such. Dimensions are 16 long, by 13 wide.

    New Shop

Ever have one of those days, I went to start on the models for this dio, and it was so hot and windy that the glue driend before I could get the pieces joined together. At least I got the fenders trimmed off on the one kit. After 3 attempts I gave up.
  23. Here are a few suggestions for you for parts. Models by Chris, he has a lot of dio stuff. Scale Equipment Ltd, more dio stuff. See the Texaco sign thread in this area, for some signage. For the shades on your lights that you showed Plastruc has them. Check out there supply of different things. They have more then just tubing, and sheet plastic. The jukebox Jimmy Flintstone made one, he may still have it in his catalog of stuff. Hope thi helps you get started.
