  1. Dang, those fenders are slick!
  2. I think you're right. Might stick it on the 'ol Xmas list. You never know, maybe the wife might get it for me. Otherwise I'll have to stick with the cheaper AMT trucks I think. lol
  3. Thanks guys, it was fun, yet challenging build.
  4. The K100 should be great since the AMT Kenworth COE is out of production. Hopefully they won't price the thing up into the stratosphere...which Revell tend to do with their non snap truck kits.
  5. I built the General years and years ago (in the '90s) and as far as I can remember it was a pretty good kit to build.
  6. Can anyone tell me what engine comes in the kit below? The box says "giant diesel engine." I know it's a V8, any more details on it would be great. The kit doesn't have any brand decals to put on it, so I can't tell if it's a CAT, Cummins or Detroit. Thanks!
  7. This is an original AMT 1973 issue White Freightliner SD. The chassis was warped when I got it, the 43 year old tires were rock hard and most of the pieces had come off their sprues, but after much patience and test fit after test fit I think it came out pretty good.Everything here is as it came from AMT (I didn't replace or customize anything). Paint is from Testors with a couple coats of clear, and there is some some BMF attached. It was a great old kit to build, definitely look forward to getting my hands on another couple of these when they are re-released soon. There was really no major issues worth mentioning, just spend plenty of time test fitting and you'll do ok.Hope you all like it...
  8. Very nice build, I like it a lot. Awesome color combo, you've done a super great job on it.
  9. Bought my copy last night, thanks for the heads up!
  10. They were weirdly shaped and the side walls were sagging outwards. I opened another 2 of these kits I have and they were the same. The Moebius rims and tires do not have to be modified in any way. They do fit on the drive wheels great and just a little glue to keep them in place (so, no freewheeling). The front axle spindles have to be shortened a little so the wheels sit under the front fenders correctly. I'm not sure if you would need to modify them to suit any other truck kit, but for the Revell snappers, they are almost trouble free.
  11. Wow, that's awesome. Always wanted to see what this kit looked like completed. You see a few of them come up on ebay, but they cost an absolute fortune. Glad you built this one, excellent work!
  12. They do look like the stock rims and tires. All but 2 of the tires that came in my kit were warped so I used the ones from Moebius. Looks like Peter lucked out and got some decent ones in his kit. Good to see.
  13. I got hold of an Italeri Steyr Semi in 1/24 (see below) and was looking to convert/ modify it from a single drive to a double bogie setup. Of course this thing being 1/24 scale and a Euro truck, I can't simply use a axle and suspension set up from a current issue AMT Peterbilt or Revell Kenworth. Anyone have any ideas (besides buying another full Italeri kit to be used for parts) for me to accomplish this? There doesn't seem to be anyone selling parts and pieces to Italeri Euro trucks on ebay, which makes it a bit hard to get this project started. Perhaps something in resin that someone might be familiar with...or someone out there with a extra axle and/or rear suspension they would be willing to part with? I'm not looking for this truck to be 100% accurate since I am going to modify it to be more of a heavy/ long distance hauler with a stretched chassis, extra fuel tanks etc. But in order to do this it really needs another drive axle at least. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  14. Don't know about the 300B but I built the Hornet and it was a fantastic kit with no issues at all.
  15. I had a missing piece from one of their monster kits...they wanted $4 for it plus postage...I needed the part so had no choice but to pay the price. In my opinion since the part was never included in the kit to begin with they should have sent it to me for nothing (like Revell does).
  16. Is this game played on line?
  17. Stunning truck, can't pick a fault with it. Brilliant work! What size is that toolbox. That thing looks slick!
  18. Super nice pictures Sam, thanks for sharing! I wish AMT would re-release their old Kenworth 900 kits again. I'd have a whole fleet of them if I could. Anyway look forward to any logging truck WIP you might start Sam.
  19. She's stunning! Love the color and hood/grill. Haven't seen this version before. Don't add the air lines. The truck looks much smoother without them!
  20. Pretty much what the other fellas said. If you're looking for one to build, then hold off. Pointless paying collector prices when you can pick one up for $40 in the next couple of months.
  21. Looks great! Love the colors you used on the engine, and the BMF on the firewall looks cool as well. Nice work.
  22. Wow, that is an awesome haul!
