  1. Thanks Ron, I had to go back and look at the photos and the car again, I used the lower control arms and steering linkage from a 24th scale Monogram 66 Mustang kit it is very close to the Hornet steering, there is a center link and outer tie rods. It does look a little tweaked. I started to scratch build the coil, and by chance I started building in the early Monogram Billy Meyer Funny Car and it had two coils and the decals are on the decal sheet.
  2. Thanks Michael, the carburetor’s are Fireball Modelworks. They have amazing detail, and a great selection, I mix Testors Metalizer Brass and Aluminum to get the color I like and then Tamiya black wash. Johan kits get harder to find and the prices are crazy, the only reason I have this is, I started with a poorly partial build kit that someone gave up on.
  3. It looks great! Beautiful color!
  4. Thank you Edgar, much appreciated!
  5. Thank you Bob, you are too kind! I just a plastic hack!
  6. You know Tony, now that you mention it, I don’t know that I’ve ever seen this kit built either. Of course I didn’t build it as the funny car. Thank you for the compliment!
  7. Thanks Scott, I appreciate you following along!
  8. Almost 3 years, 2 kits, A started Johan Hornet Funny Car kit and the Johan 69 Rambler S/C kit, 2 Sets of Slixx decals, repainted 4 times, lots of scratch built parts! I think it turned out well for all I had to go through. Comments, questions, criticism all accepted. ASI. Posting this I just realized I missed chrome on the door handles, but I’m headed out of town and wanted to get this posted.
  9. Thanks Scott, I’m calling it finished, you can see the final photos in Underglass.
  10. Getting closer, I’m calling the interior finished. I made and installed the glass.
  11. What did you use on the chrome trim?
  12. That’s beautiful, this one’s been on my list for a while now. The blue looks spot on, crisp edges on the white, very well done. What are you doing for the chassis? Out of the box?
  13. That motor is beautiful Joe, I was wondering what you were up to, it’s good to see you on another car build!
  14. Thanks Trevor, it’s close!
  15. Thanks Scott about one more day I’m thinking ??
  16. Looks much better!
  17. I love what your doing here, you built an old collector kit, and did it beautifully. Great job on this one!
  18. Beautiful build, a ton of scratch building, love it!
  19. Thanks Francis I really appreciate that.
  20. Thanks, I mix Testors metalizers, brass and aluminum, I thought is was still a little to gold, but I’ll apply a wash and it should tone down.
  21. I like the ride height! Good stance! I didn’t have that issue with my Nomad build, I ha another dash if you want to try it, it’s out of an older issue.
  22. I like it, looks great! Great stance!
  23. That’s funny, there’s no such thing as a simple build!
  24. Wow, that’s pretty! Great work!
  25. Thanks everyone, for the kind words. I’ve not been on here in a week or so, so I apologize for the late response. Work and life keep me pretty busy and I am spending as much free time I have on my Hornet build, wanting to get it completed.
