Amazing work! The 64 Grand Prix was my first model, purchased by my mother after much begging, way back in 1964, I was 7. Lol......

I was always amazed how the stands would empty after the Pro’s ran. Don’t get me wrong, I always enjoyed watching the between rounds thrash to get to the next round, but there was some very exciting racing going on during that time. Comp, Modified, Super Stock and even the Stock classes were great to watch. I particularly liked Modified, and I hated it when they did away with the class. These were stock bodied cars with any American engine, mostly very hi- revving small blocks 4 speed trans missions, wheel standing starts, running in the 10s. Great stuff! One of the builds on my list for some time now has been the Cross & Reher Modified Maverick. Reher is David Reher, is part of the famous Reher & Morrison pro stock fame. Bobby Cross went on after parting with David to field several of his own successful modified cars. Slixx Decals printed the decals for this car on their #08 Quarter panel Decal sheet. I remembered reading about this car and after searching through hundreds of back issued magazines, I found the Car Craft magazine that featured an article on the car. The Maverick was powered by a 302 Chevy engine, Muncie 4 speed, Chevy drive shaft, and a 12 Bolt Chevy rear axle. Back in 2017 I posted a repair I did on an EBay Maverick find where the rear wheel openings were butchered and I repaired them. I’m finally getting back to this build. I’ve collected parts from AMT 67 Mustang and the Revell Nova kits to do the build .

Their all great builds, very well done! When I was younger I was somewhat of a Chevy snob, Glidden changed that for me when he went to Mopar for a year and was just as competitive as he was with the Ford. I learned it was the person and not the brand name of the car that made a difference. Great builds and thanks for posting them, I enjoyed looking at them very much. Looks like you adjusted the stance on these, car to share how you did it?

Thanks again everyone, I really appreciate the positive feed back! I’m stoked this year to finally finish some of the models I’ve had on the build list for far too long. If you followed some of my other builds you will remember I hurt my right index finger last October and still now only have partial use of it and it’s probably as good as it’s going to get. Needless to say it’s made model building more of a challenge, but at the same time caused me to appreciate my hands and eyes all the more. Build them while you can guys, I cannot express how much better it is to see this finished in the display case, than what I invisioned in my mind.

Wow amazing build here, I always wanted to own a Jr. Fuel dragster, I was very disappointed to learn Nitro Junior Fuel cars are not allowed anymore, only alcohol.
