Amazing work!

I then turned my attention to completing the interior. I had already flocked the floors. I detailed a parts box steering wheel that resembled the 1to1 car. A parts box shifter with T handle and reverse lock out is installed and the scratch built roll bar and braces. A parts box tachometer and photo etched gages. I still need seat belts and harness.

I had put two coats of clear on the body, and let it dry a week. Today I sanded the body with 1000 grit sandpaper, and applied the final clear coat.

Thanks everyone, I stacked 3 Fred Cady side decals, to get the red covered. I have a list of things I’d do differently if I was to do it over.....

Thanks! Here’s the link, great product! Comes very thin, I wished I had painted the side panels now. https://www.cftapes.com

After installing the rear axle, I thought I was ready for paint and air brushed Model Master Semi Gloss Black, only to notice some sanding scratches, and will have to correct and repaint.

Small update: The company I work for thought we weren’t doing enough work, as I normally work in the field and drive time is considered, and added more daily assignments and closed another department completely and gave us that work to do.There short sided thinking has resulted in more work than I can complete in a day as we’re returning to field work, so I’ve not had much time to work on the Duster. I did manage to get the rear axle built. I started with the Dana from the 70 Coronet Kit, I narrowed the axle tubes too much the first time and ended up cutting them completely off and scratch built axle tube with Plastruct tubing. I used the kit leaf springs and mounted them to the rear frame rails as my reference photos showed. I notched the front of the rails to get the ride height correct and formed spring eye hangers.

You mentioned a new work area and better lighting, I’m curious what light your using? Great build by the way! -
I would like a little more info on this build.

For years I’ve been using a desk Ott Light, but lately it doesn’t seem to be as bright as it used to be. I don’t think they even make the bulbs for it any more, so I’m curious on what lighting everyone uses. My daughter uses an LED Ott light and while it’s bright it only covers a small working area. Any pics suggestions would be most welcome, thanks.
