  1. Hello Ray, yes I’m going to paint it another color. Do not know what color yet . I’m going for a cal look but that will depends on if I can resin cast a Porsche wheel for it. If I can , it will be slammed and a wild color will painted. If I cannot cast a wheel I will go for the Austin power colors.
  2. Very nice!!! The color is fantastic!!!
  3. Had to open a few boxes just to see what’s there. From what I see, the convertible top will work, a lot of parts for the top. I’m going to try to resin cast a 1/8 Porsche 911 Carrera wheel. Two tone paint and slam it to the ground. It’s a superbeatle a lot different than the original bug.
  4. Oh boy. Mark just dropped off this 1/8 VW Beatle convertible. Need a bigger house.
  5. I have this kit. Was a gift , I think. Holy cow. Like a revell model factory hiro kit! Did anyone finish one?
  6. Fixing the small problem areas. Filling the injection pin marks, sanding the edges of the hood , doors and deck lid for less paint build up. Not going to strip all of the paint. Using it as a guide coat to block the panels. We will see if this works. Need a lot of area to work on the car. Prepping the car this weekend and spraying next weekend, I hope. Going to spray a acid etch primer.
  7. Starting a 1/8 gt500. Combining a DeAgostini body to the Agora supersnake platform. This is what I’m shooting for. The 67 ford colors are not the best . Going for the Acapulco blue. Not quite the same shade but I tinted it to be a little more attractive to my tastes. The color chart is pretty bland. Here is a car painted Acapulco blue, but the color chart is different. Probably because the chart is really old. Fixing the issues on the body and fit. . They are not bad, but I want it a little better. I have a little more confidence especially on such a very expensive kit. Adding detail to the build. I have freedom on this build, like my agora 427 cobra, I was able to just do what I wanted. Here we go.
  8. WOW, I was just pondering the question of what to do next. I used to buy a kit then build it and buy another and build that, but…… I have somehow turned collector. I have a 10 by 25 building on the side of the house filled with kits. What happened? Now I go in there and stare for awhile until I figure out what to build. I have two model factory hiro kits on the table but stalled. They are turning out great but I guess I might be burned out from these highly detailed kits. Going to put them away for now. A 1/8 1967 GT500 is calling me. I have a extra DeAgostini 500 body and am going to put it on the Agora platform. I do have the ( go ahead ) from both DeAgostini and Agora to do this. They said to do what I want. Since I get these big kits for free, I have certain things to follow per their instructions. So like the Agora 427 cobra. I get to modify, detail, repaint it anyway I want. Just recieved my GT500 decals. Had them custom made. For my repaint and change of color. Sooo this is calling me. At least for now.
  9. NICE!!!!!!
  10. Very nice
  11. Ray you probably have this, but this book is new to me. Has pictures I have not seen before. Here are some.
  12. Keep going, love this build.
  13. Thank you jdhog.
  14. Thank you drifterdon.
  15. This old kit still holds up well. Took 1st place in the ( out of box) category this weekend at our local IPMS event.
  16. Thank you Randy D , yes sir completely different for me. I will build another 30’s monogram kit. Very fun.
  17. Hello Bainford. Thank you and these kits are still good. Heck I’ve had worse issues on a very expensive mfh kit. I will build another 30’s monogram kit.
  18. I would like to add , everyone is a class act. Took the time to answer all questions. These guys have really deep pockets yet they took time to talk about the car or anything else about the car. These people had class.
  19. I wondered the same thing and asked, the body shell and all the sheet metal is original. Even after the fire. The subframe is original but highly modified. Everything else is new. Like the brakes, holy cow they are big hence the large diameter wheels. But if your speeding along at 266 mph I would want to stop. Has a rack for steering. Control bars are different. I remember they were really concerned about tires. Above 200 mph it’s a whole new world. They had a lot of rear end gear ratios. I was told there is a special set up for top speed. Road race, silverstate etc. and takes a long time to change the car. I am going to make a model of the road race or silverstate car. The fastest camaro.
  20. I know you have a jo- Han Cadillac. LOL
