  1. Another ford.
  2. Hello guys, I did not get these today. Actually I cannot remember when I purchased them. But they are cool subjects. Thought you guys might like them.
  3. Super build
  4. Hello Ray, going to go with Acapulco blue. The color chart is off. It’s very old and faded. But the restored car you see is the color. I have something that’s real close so I will go with that. Will tint the paint to get it a little closer. Right now I’m painting my house so the progress on the Shelby is a little slow right now. Really getting a little picky on the prep on the Shelby. Found some very small problem areas in the primer . So I’m fixing them. A lot more work on this body than the cobra. The fit on the cobra is so much better. You picked the right big scale kit.
  5. Oh man this is really nice!!! Great job!!!
  6. Ewetwo I have lost several dogs and each time it seems a piece of your heart is ripped out of your body. I am truly sorry for your loss. He looked like a very cool dog. Try to keep your head up . My very close friend Steve was diagnosed with cancer also. This was 4 years ago. He had a bone marrow transplant. Was in the hospital for several months but he has so far pulled out of it and has even started modeling again. He is still up and kicking. So Sometimes there is light at the end of the tunnel. I am hoping and praying for the best for you and your wife. Very, very sincerely Bruce
  7. Sorry for your loss.
  8. Primed the body of my GT 500. 1/8 scale. Primed a lot.
  9. All primed. Bodywork looks good. Sand and ready for the Acapulco blue.
  10. Started priming. Had a few issues in the body . Now straight. Washed the parts with dawn soap and dried the parts. I always wash body parts with dawn and a toothbrush. Priming the car with a etch primer. If I miss sanding a small spot on the body, the etch primer will etch into a unsanded area and help bind the materials to the body. Like when I mask for the stripes. Will not pull up the paint when I unmask it.
  11. I Like all kits, and I like all cars. Just about every car company has or had a cool car. And like the car companies, the model companies have something cool in their stash of cars. My most favorite thing is to build a cool car that is really tough to build that cost $5 at a swap meet and take a 1st place at a IPMS event. Mark Adams from DeAgostini saw this and gave me a 1/10 Toyota 2000 GT kit to see what I could do with a expensive kit and it worked out well. You never know who’s watching, and I have been blessed. I love all of the kits and all cars.
  12. Hello Ray, yes I’m going to paint it another color. Do not know what color yet . I’m going for a cal look but that will depends on if I can resin cast a Porsche wheel for it. If I can , it will be slammed and a wild color will painted. If I cannot cast a wheel I will go for the Austin power colors.
  13. Very nice!!! The color is fantastic!!!
  14. Had to open a few boxes just to see what’s there. From what I see, the convertible top will work, a lot of parts for the top. I’m going to try to resin cast a 1/8 Porsche 911 Carrera wheel. Two tone paint and slam it to the ground. It’s a superbeatle a lot different than the original bug.
  15. Oh boy. Mark just dropped off this 1/8 VW Beatle convertible. Need a bigger house.
  16. I have this kit. Was a gift , I think. Holy cow. Like a revell model factory hiro kit! Did anyone finish one?
  17. Fixing the small problem areas. Filling the injection pin marks, sanding the edges of the hood , doors and deck lid for less paint build up. Not going to strip all of the paint. Using it as a guide coat to block the panels. We will see if this works. Need a lot of area to work on the car. Prepping the car this weekend and spraying next weekend, I hope. Going to spray a acid etch primer.
  18. Starting a 1/8 gt500. Combining a DeAgostini body to the Agora supersnake platform. This is what I’m shooting for. The 67 ford colors are not the best . Going for the Acapulco blue. Not quite the same shade but I tinted it to be a little more attractive to my tastes. The color chart is pretty bland. Here is a car painted Acapulco blue, but the color chart is different. Probably because the chart is really old. Fixing the issues on the body and fit. . They are not bad, but I want it a little better. I have a little more confidence especially on such a very expensive kit. Adding detail to the build. I have freedom on this build, like my agora 427 cobra, I was able to just do what I wanted. Here we go.
  19. WOW, I was just pondering the question of what to do next. I used to buy a kit then build it and buy another and build that, but…… I have somehow turned collector. I have a 10 by 25 building on the side of the house filled with kits. What happened? Now I go in there and stare for awhile until I figure out what to build. I have two model factory hiro kits on the table but stalled. They are turning out great but I guess I might be burned out from these highly detailed kits. Going to put them away for now. A 1/8 1967 GT500 is calling me. I have a extra DeAgostini 500 body and am going to put it on the Agora platform. I do have the ( go ahead ) from both DeAgostini and Agora to do this. They said to do what I want. Since I get these big kits for free, I have certain things to follow per their instructions. So like the Agora 427 cobra. I get to modify, detail, repaint it anyway I want. Just recieved my GT500 decals. Had them custom made. For my repaint and change of color. Sooo this is calling me. At least for now.
  20. NICE!!!!!!
  21. Very nice
  22. Ray you probably have this, but this book is new to me. Has pictures I have not seen before. Here are some.
  23. Keep going, love this build.
