  1. I've used the small 'O' rings from Bic lighters for wheelie wheels before and the shipping was free. If I remember right, there were two in each lighter.
  2. John - I swear you're a dynamic one-man model factory that only builds the most far out, one-of-a-kind builds at breakneck speed where each one deserves to be in a museum. Now I think I know where Santa's elves are during the rest of the year. How soon do they go back to the north pole?
  3. This now is interesting and will be fun to watch. Looks like that rear axle needs some more weight on it.
  4. More, more, more. Please....
  5. This is a cool looking build no matter if its static or not. Where can one go about getting those front tires and rims like in the above picture?
  6. Those hubs look great and I too can't wait for you to get home and provide us with more progress on this incredible, high caliber, top notch build. When I sit down to check in on the forums, this is the thread I look for first and rightly so, as I'm learning so much here and am also really enjoying your excitement putting this all together.
  7. Oh yeah!! Glad to see you started a separate thread on this one. Did Lucas get the decals done? Really looking forward to this as I really like gassers.
  8. x3 what Joe said regarding what Tyrone said about what John said. Sorry...couldn't help myself but its all true.
  9. What a great thread and source of some under-the-hood inspiration. Here's a few of mine. Current build of Fiat Altered. '57 Chevy midwest stock car. '41 Willys that's been on and off the workbench for 15 years. Swamp Rat XXX Sprint car
  10. Both of these builds are nicely done. I had a faded red 4 door '62 and a white 2 dr '65 with factory air when I was in high school. Growing up in the midwest, I had hs buddies who would call me for a ride when we got a bunch of snow overnight. I always referred to the '65 as an Enclosed Snowmobile because it would go almost anywhere in the snow.
  11. Oooohh, I'm liking this one a whole lot. Everything about it is top-notch and I look forward to more.
  12. This build and thread are outstanding Mark. We all greatly appreciate you taking the time to document your progress and techniques.
  13. Now that's cool right there, I don't care who you are. Keep plugging away at it Chris, the long road is made up of little steps.
  14. Loving this build and the Hemi looks great. Yes, they are huge, one of the reasons I love 'em so much. Power on!! Can't see the throttle linkage from here so don't kill yourself over it. Dual carbs are a challenge to build a linkage for and look correct. Take your time and it'll happen.
  15. Me thinks you've been smokin' papyrus in that stogie!! Personally, I like the flat looks with a few shiny pieces thrown in. The colors currently look like they've been carved from stone and maybe a few joint lines would enhance the stone look? Just rambling...so do what the papyrus tells you.
  16. I have to agree on a totally scratch-built trailer. I've started one myself but it too has stalled for the moment. Most of my interior is scratch-built with basswood. Check it out and maybe you'll get some ideas. And yes, they are really cramped in there. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48138&hl=&fromsearch=1 I'll be following this one closely and can't wait to see more.
  17. That Pancho Villa dude sure has a great vehicle designer. The stadium seats are filling up for watching this exquisite show and I'm in the front row for this one.
  18. I take a few days off and look where this has gone. Amazing work Joe. Really likiing the progress and fabrication as well as the ingenuity on this one. Keep it going and maybe not too many more sleepless nights.
  19. Man oh man, this thing's fast just sittin' still. Love it and I have to agree on the RS grill. So where can I locate a wiring/plumbing diagram of NOS? Seems your the king of installing this on your builds.
  20. Now that's what I'm talking about!!! Glad to see the finished pictures on this one. Nicely done Joe and thanks for upgrading your PB account so we could all see them. What WIP do you have in store for us next?
  21. Man, I want to see the finished work but none of the pictures are showing up. What gives??
  22. That bracket is amazing Chris. Nicely done. Too bad about all of the hours @ work but I suppose you need to feed this hobby some $ sometime.
  23. Thanks to both of you guys Chris and Darryl. I hope to be back at it soon but the DW and I are heading out of town for a few days starting this Wednesday. I have a couple of days on the back end of being out of town before I need to go back to work so I'm hoping to get some quality bench time in then.
  24. As for the decals, I can do the artwork, just need someone to print them but I'd like to find someone locally or at least in this region of the US.
  25. What a great back story Kieth. Thanks for sharing that with us and also sharing your upcoming build with us, at least, I hope you do. Now before you go and spill paint or glue on your dad's handwritten notes, scan and/or photograph them and put them away unless you need them to put this build together. Take any means necessary to preserve those notes. You'll be glad you did.
