  1. Another great source is your local flyfishing store. They have tons of small colored wires in a variety of diameters. Small spools are usually a couple of bucks, will last you a long time.
  2. Nice builds Jonathan. Extremely realistic. It was great meeting you last Saturday and be able to put a face with the name. So what's the story with this Bill Bozo decals place? Is he local and able to print decals? I've been looking for a local with an Alps, just haven't found anyone yet.
  3. Let us know when and its title. Should be a great book.
  4. Nice build no matter what trim it has. Glad to see more pictures posted. Thanks.
  5. I don't care who you are, that's cool right there. What a unique build. Definately an eye catcher. How about a bit of overspray on the tires and a rag in the manifold?
  6. Stunning, spectacular and so life-like. I love both of those builds. The cash register, microwave, cook thing and all of the little details in the bus and for the general store, everything is so perfect. Thanks for posting both of these inspirational builds.
  7. Man those are some close quarters but it usually is inside a coffin, at least that's what I've heard. Making great progress and the colors are perfect for this build.
  8. Looking really good Chris. So now the big glaring question, how's it fit the body now? After what I saw and we discussed yesterday morning, it should be just about perfect if not dead on.
  9. Cool, that's part one of a minor rebuild. Looks good Chris. Hope the rest goes along smoothly. How long did it take you to get this part done?
  10. Ah shucks, I'm blushing. Thanks for the kind words guys, its really appreciated and I love this forum as well as getting small with you all.
  11. Tube garden is right, all 128 of them. What a mind blowing build John. What do you suppose the real car got for MPG's? Say, where did you get the driver figure?
  12. I had the distinct pleasure of viewing Chris' outstanding build firsthand this morning and I must say its spectacular. His level of detail and attention to the smallest of intricate parts is amazing. Just being able to bolt things together and take them apart again is phenominal in itself. Thanks for sharing your stuff with me Chris. I now see a 1/16th scale in my future. I hope its just one though.
  13. Thanks for all of the kind words fellas. I really have to thank all of you guys on this board because I have learned so much here and it has raised my level of detail because of all of you guys. For that, I thank you all. More updates coming soon.
  14. Oh this is going to be good. She's already got a good stance and I like the yellow as well.
  15. Thanks guys. The right side is done and I also attached the stabilizer so the front end is done. Whew!!! Sorry the pictures are a bit blurry. Appears the auto focus on my little Canon SD800 doesn't know what to focus on when its so small. Thanks for following along on this build. Appreciate any comments.
  16. I sure like how it sits in the lower position. Was this picture achieved by taking out the rear axle and setting the wheels and tires in position? If so, I think you've arrived at your decision. The axle needs moving up. If this is the case, the headers height looks good, what about the lower frame rail being parallel to the ground? Oh - I have some printing plate for you.
  17. Progressing nicely Steve. Keep those updates coming.
  18. After much holding of my breath and OptiVisor viewing, I was able to get the right radius rod made and installed. The left one is assembled and awaiting install after I get home from work. Here's a pic of the right side. Man am I glad to have that done. Rod ends and stainless tubing are R&B Motion and the bolts and nuts are from Scale Hardware. Both of these are the smallest they make. The batwing mounted to the axle is fabricated from printing plate. Stay tuned for the left side later tonight.
  19. I really hate to add this to the conversion conversation but how will raising the rear axle affect the ground clearance of the headers and the bottom frame rail being parallel to the ground? All of these need to be considered before committing to a fix.
  20. Sweet little round track racer Walt. Very clean and nice executed. Keep it going.
  21. A bit of good news, at least for me. I took the front straight axle off again and started to clean it up and polish it and found out that its going to work out. The turning radius won't be as tight as it is now but I can live with that. So now its onto making the other batwing and getting those mounted to the axle so I can make the radius rods. Stay tuned...
  22. Any news or updates? I know you said no more photos 'til its done but maybe just a little could slip through the cracks?
  23. This is shaping up to be a cool project and I'll be following along. Now those frame side paels would look great made out of aluminum.
  24. Very nice stuff Chuck. Did you do the artwork for these decals yourself? Now that you have an Alps, will you be kind enough to print others' decals?
