Ok, here's a few of the reference photos I have out of the 50 or so. I was able to get the vector files for the decals and numbers from the sign company which saved me a ton of time. Thanks for your interest.

Welcome aboard Andrew and Carl. Thanks for following along. Darbo - Ian, as you pobably know, is from Australia.

If you follow midwest sprint car racing, you know who Ian Madsen is. If you don't, well he just won the points champion award for the latest season concluding in Knoxville, Iowa. I'm collecting items for this upcoming build and wasn't really sure where to post it. Not really an oval or dirt track category here on the forums besides NASCAR. The decals are all done and printed by my friend Chief Joseph. I have tons of pictures because a relative is one of the major sponsors of this racer. I'm having the rims turned by Jim at MicroNitro and I can't wait to see what he comes up with. I'll post a few of the pictures I have of the actual 1:1 car later this afternoon. Stay tuned....this will be fun.

That Mooneyham blower and hat are out of this world Chris. Maybe you should just render up the entire funny car and have it 3D printed. LOL Your stuff is always top notch, whether its on the bench or computer rendered. Love it all!!

That's a great idea Dale. Chris just needs to connect with him and show him some detailed pictures, display his devotion to his build and how he's striving for utmost accuracy.

I keep coming back to look through and study these photos. This is a real stunning build with tons of hand crafting and fabrication utilizing a variety of materials demonstrating a highly developed skill set. With that said, I have to ask why weren't the headlight lenses put in straight? Please don't get me wrong. I totally love this build. How could you not? I'm mostly curious since you spent so much time and dedication to every other area of this build.

Well, in this instance, nothing is temporarily glued. The rear end/axle is held on with a small rubber band, gravity is holding the front axle in place and the engine is just sitting in the motor mounts without the piano wire it will eventually get. On other builds, I've used Elmer's (sorry...its a brand name) that been diluted but whatever it is you're temporarily gluing needs to be washed off with warm water when done so keep that in mind.

Engine is finally painted, blower is attached, water crossover is glued on( although I broke off the filler tube) and tensioner pulley bracket and pulley are glued on. also painted the injector hat and valve covers with Alclad. Here's a few pics: I just had to set up a mock up just to have a look. Progress is slow but its still progress. As always, comments welcome.

There sure is alot going on here. Every little grouping tells its own story. Love this. I see Linda Vaughn is heading for the hot dog vendor. There's a story in itself. LOL

Hot dang...that Omni is cool looking and I'm not much of an Omni body fan. Your injector hat looks to be spot on Chris and I can hardly wait to see this 3D printed as well. Ok, so I gotta ask, what is the little tools sheet thingie at the back of your cutting board? Tools for some of John minions?

Since I haven't been able to source any reference for the front part of the engine, I've been utilizing the photo posted below as reference since its probably the same shop and builder that put together both of these cars. I didn't realize until I was studying this photo that the Walt's Puffer too is in the background with a cover over the scoop. I don't know how I missed that before. I'm usually more observant than that. LOL I can see the same water crossover pipe and fill cap as on the one in the foreground.

The orange label Plasti-Zap is PT-19 and the green label Zap-A-Gap is PT-03. I pretty much use these exclusively as my adhesives.

I use Zap-A-Gap on metal to metal and Plasti-Zap for any type of plastic. I've not used any other type of cyanocrylic adhesives.

Work has really slowed down on this build. The weather has been a bit crazy here with all of the rain, flooding, power outages and downed trees and limbs. Now that most of the clean up on our acre has been taken care of, I hope to get in some time this week. Next up is the fuel pump that goes on the back of the blower as mentioned earlier in this thread. Kind of tight back there with the magneto but I'll get it to fit.

Chris - you've got a few screws loose. No really, on the breather bases though. LOL Really great to meet up with you yesterday and to see this again in person. Pics are nice but not like the real thing.

John - where are you?? Miss you and your updates. You need to dust this one off and get back to work on it. DSC will be here before you know it and you have 5 more builds to complete by then.

Those cleaned up much better than I thought but I should know by now that miracles happen in your very capable hands. I say we have a winner.
