It's interesting to note that in the photos that I've seen of this reissue, the air cleaner is on the drivers side while the luberfiner is on the passengers side. Is it the same with the yellow SSP reissue from 2013? This is opposite from the Revell USA 1/25 Peterbilt 359.
I just saw on another board that Revell (possible Revell of Germany) is planning on reissuing the 1/16 Peterbilt 359. Looks like the cost is about $170. Didn't Revell USA recently reissue this kit substantially cheaper?
Thanks for the info, Chuck. Yes, I have the latest reissue with the yellow F1 on the box. As to your offer, a local modeler has offered to trade me the Flathead V8 out of his 1949 Mercury kit for the one in the 1950 F1 kit. Seems reasonable to me.
Picked up a VN780 earlier this year. Might get a 378 if the price is reasonable, but Italeri prices haven't been terribly "reasonable" as of late (in my opinion).
I have a DM600 in the stash, so I probably won't get another one. Probably. I remember building the "Blue Devil" destroyer back in the 1980s. It's a big kit; needs a lot of work to make an accurate Fletcher-class destroyer, but a fun build none the less.
I have a Revell Ford F1 in the stash. In reviewing the instructions, it doesn't apear that you can build the engine stock, but only as a customized Flathead V8. Does anyone know if the exhaust manifold & carburator are in the box?
All of the AMT Kenworth W925 kits were the same. Only the decals were different. Although later issues had the spring suspensions making them actually W923.
Looks like someone scratchbuilt an American-LaFrance Pioneer cab for the Ladder Chief. (Technically, it's a truck, not an engine. There's no pump for water.)
