Ray, I was close!
Robert, thank you for the compliment, but I have to admit I did not paint this cab. Jim Gavin (drinkone2) painted it for me. The pinstripes are vinyl.
Ray, that Paystar is incredible! Looks like the sleepre from the Transtar 4300 & AITM wheels, right? I think you've given me an idea for my Paystar.
Hessel, that's one sweet looking Aussie Superliner!
The Ford LN8000/LNT8000 and the Peterbilt 359 "California Hauler" do not have hinged hoods. You'll have to scratch build a hinge. I hinged thr hood on my 1973 Ryder Ford LN8000 Short Hauler with aluminum tube & some steel rod. Works quite well, actually.
It's hard to tell from this pic, but you can just see the two small tubes on the front of the frame where the pins from the hood would sit.
I filed out a nice little groove for them & epoxyed them in. There is a corresponding tube epoxyed to the hood. Then a rod connects them all together.
Dom Loomis already casts it in resin: http://my.inbox.com/photos/escort500xl/index.aspx Check his page "6 Cylinders & Other Engines". An alternative vendor is always nice, though.
