  1. Thanks for the tip Kurt! I'm taking notes. You got the KFS wheels, this is going to get real interesting, air valves too... NICE! Classy stuff, if it ends up anything like your avatar Freightliner, you'll have another clear winner! Smells like it.
  2. Yep, looks like all you have to do is saw the sleeper sides down, then plug the thing up with some styrene plate and square sections along the edges then round it off by sanding.
  3. How about this? This is the flatest it gets: I bet it's not pretty seen from an overpass. It looks like the hole the high roof left has been plugged with a fiberglass insert...
  4. Simply amazing. Just amazing, you have some extraordinary patience my friend. It's looking great so far!
  5. That is a sad story. On one hand this guy has bad health and has to sell a stash of rare items. On the other one, lots of guys who would appreciate this little fortune bit by bit can't reach any of it unless they take the whole thing. So, instead of that, some "salesman" is probably going to buy the whole lot and sell them one by one on Evilbay and make a ton of money out of this. Don't get me wrong, 1500$ is a great deal for these kits, but I don't have that kind of money to buy the whole lot. I know for one that the Cat D8H Bulldozer, the lowboy trailer, the dumper trailer, the John Deere Backhoe, the Transtar and the Payhauler dump truck (probably more) would have interested me...
  6. Oh well, he can always shove them ...
  7. Nice old GM Pick'em ups trucks Chris and Ben! Ben, I like the way this builod is shaping up, I like your choice of wheels. What is going to make them turn, the Chevy small block you have in one of the pictures? No way a big diesel fits under that cab!!
  8. WHen I saw the first newer style VN such as this one, I thought they were from outer space! Man, these were the most futuristic trucks I've ever seen (not counting the KW T2000 of course...) But I liked right away, it looks great! This looks good in red, nice build Ian!
  9. I'm liking this! I have a thing for color coordinated rigs... I like your covered wagon we don't get to see much of those. Nice build Chad.
  10. This guy has over 200 rare kits for sale (Transtars, Payhaulers, Cat bulldozers, Backhoes, you name it) He's selling everything! Have a look! http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/clt/2806438815.html
  11. Hey, it looks like you use Alclad paint. Which finish did you use for the fuel tanks and battery box? Also, which clear coat do you use for a sealer? By the way, the Peterbilt exhaust shield... On a GMC? Looks nice despite the name though! I'm kidding, I like what I see!
  12. Yeah, saw it on Youtube, this is one neat truck! Impressive to see it go like that.
  13. Doing a nice job out of this! Looks great, the Italeri wheels look just right, the engine is awesome, goood fit. I like your twin snorkel air filter setup. You have a winner coming up!
  14. I was thinking about this after I wrote the previous comment. Why not take some chrome Bare-Metal sheets and apply them to the sides of that trailer? It would make a nice stainless steel look to it, wouldn't it! I just might try it on my next van! You could even color coordinate the contours, the roof, the doors with that daycab Pete 378 or 379 or 388 or 389 tractor that's going to be in front of it, along with the spread axles? Would look great man! Think about it...
  15. This is way impressive! Where do you learn to plumb and weather a truck like that? I like my stuff, but I get blown out of the water when I see stuff like this! Great job Jarda.
  16. Thanks James, that is appreciated. You're right, repeating the trucks design would be a lot of work. That would have worked if the decals weren't already on the truck! The way to do it is to scan the decals and modify it on a computer, making a negative of it, then printing it on white decal film. The size would have been a problem though, it would have taken two sheets for both sides. Anyway, don't throw it away just yet, I'm sure it'll fit nicely with a long framed daycab Pete!
  17. Road trains are always impressive models, great job mate! BTW, you seem to have a pretty extensive collection of 1:18 diecast Supercar V8's too, NICE!
  18. I like it, the Titan and the flatbed are a great match! Nice graphics, nice and clean build. Quite presentable, any loads planned??? I have a similar trailer to yours, I was planning to get the 1:25 scale Caterpillar V12 generator set from Norscot, but got discontinued whan i got really interested. Maybe some scale wood bundles... Got to take pictures of the freightliner with that flatbed!
  19. Ha! nice to see another on of these around! Pretty large spread axle you have there. Why don't you extend the tractor's stripes to the trailer and reverse the colors? You have a green truck with black stripes, and a black trailer with... Green stripes! Or white or/with silver for that matter. You could just make straight horizontal stripes, the same width and height as on the back of the cab, and end the stripes at the end of the trailer or stop midway and ponctuate it with a "check mark" similar to the one you have on the tractor door? Or just repeat the tractor's design into a larger scale for the trailer. Or use two colors you have on the cab like green and silver, use one color for the stripes and the other for the check mark and maybe even with a red accent on that check mark, it's endless! You could experiment with automotive tape of different width or even with Pactra tape which is thin enough for models. Dream up your own company name and use decal material from Bare metal or Testors and put that name at the top front of that trailer! It's already nice as it is! Of course, we're nitpickers too, that trailer looks ok with your Volvo but it does look better with lower cab trucks or a 1:25th scale Lonestar. would probably be a nice match to the Long Hauler Pete.
  20. While we're waiting for it, would it be so difficult as to update the truck into a more up to date W900B???
  21. There is still a good market for the vintage AMT, Revell, Italeri kits, I know I like the classics myself. But there definitely is one for new subjects too. Too bad Italeri is out of Volvos but they should re-engineer them (670-780) into a more detailed (engined, opening hood, steerable axle...)unit. Maybe retool the 378 long hauler into a real 389. Why? Why not? Pete's are real popular whatever the model, just make us feel like they "care". That (north american) Mack Titan and the Granite would sell really well with the truck builders. I'd like to know how well the kits do in the outside world, i.e. do the kids build these as we used to? Anyway, I hope not only Moebius steps up to this game but the other "big" ones too. Personally,I'll buy anything that is up to date even if don't build them right away. I'll be getting in line for the Prostar and the Great Dane reefer before they come out, I'll be getting in line for a Mack Titan as well with a detachable lowboy, maybe?
  22. I hope it's not a poodle or a bulldog for that matter!! Good name! And Roy, that is excellent work you put on that Dodge! Good choice of everything, the colors, the rims, the dual headlights, nice clean build, looks real good!
