  1. Going to skip ahead Painted Back half of the truck done , almost Still have some small things to finish up on it
  2. Truck part one Alright, back to this one, almost done with the trailer, as of right now, I think all I have left to do is the taillights, so lets have a looks see , sorry for the limited photos and lighting, my work area is not great for larger projects And been working on the truck, I am going to 100% honest, sort of phoning it in on the work First the floor of the interior, as you can see, has hole holes And after cutting sheet stock and after some paint Seat in place Dash in place Look at the cab
  3. Sure, maybe using the word" force" was a tad bit to strong of a word to use, but for the rest, I agree, it starts with the parents, for the most part, although kids do get interested in things without parents helping. I think my point I wanted to make is that the current generation of kids are probably not going to find the hobby very interesting. And there really isnt a lot that can be done about it.
  4. This right here, and its getting better, would I like to see some kits from 80's reissued that I missed out on, you bet you, but I would not trade how the hobby is today for how it was in "golden era" if you will . Note to Bill AKA ACE, I am not directly replying to you , just using what you said to base some of my reply off on I find it utterly hilarious that we are still talking about if the hobby is going to be around, I dont understand why people think the hobby may go away, its not going too anytime soon , and once more, Revell and Round2 can close up shop tomorrow and the hobby would still chug along just fine with out them. So many people I think overlook the fact that building models is world wide, not just limited too the USA, and its more than just cars, as long as there are model kits to build, the hobby is not going anywhere, we dont need model company paints and glue to build them, so we will be just fine if that day does come, and for a lot guys, they have enough kits to last two, maybe three life times worth. Now, I do have a question, why do we want to force the hobby on kids?, and I use the word force is because that is how it comes across when talking about kids and the hobby sometimes, and second, why cant some people understand that every generation is different, and not every generation is going to be exactly the same as the last?, kids what to play with whats current, and you know what, I dont blame them, and we shouldn't care one bit. The only thing we can do is expose them to the hobby, and hope that they might find it interesting, but thats it, and here is another but, the current generation and maybe the last one, does not really care all that much about cars , they are not car people, they see cars as something that gets them from point A to B, nothing more, nothing less, so its going to be really hard to get them to want to build model kits of subjects that are in the 70 year old range, not gonna happen. Just enjoy the hobby today, and not worry about how it was 60 years ago, life is to short for all this.
  5. Same here, and I hope that you are wearing underpants under that skirt
  6. I forgot to mention that.
  7. Yeah Bill, same car , the Subaru has a different front bumper , the grill opening is different, and there are difference's in the headlights as well for all three of them. The US version is sold under the Scion brand and called the FRS
  8. The kit was released today should have mine next week sometime.

  11. Tamiya is getting back on the Toyota/BRZ twins train and doing two modified reissues , one for the Toyota 86 and one for the Subaru BRZ, lets take a look at the Subaru BRZ first shall we . Meet the Subaru BRZ Street Custom These are new parts And a look at the box art Release date is being shown as Nov and pre ordering pricing is as low as 2880 Yen And now on to the Toyota 86, Tamiya is doing it as the Gazoo Racing Team's Rally version #104, the only info at this moment is the release date and price, and a photo, so more info to come Release date is set for Dec with a pre order pricing as low as 3080 Yen One other note, both of these kits have Carbon Fiber decals sheets for them
  12. Someone is currently doing a SWB conversion of it .
  13. Excellent work
  14. It is currently showing a release date of Feb 2015 But why dont you get a Lindberg CV kit, it would be money well spent, the Revell version is toy.
  15. It does get really bad, there are times that decent stuff does get posted, but its not only the builds, its the questions that get posted, its just bad. Take a look at it over the course of a week.
  16. That is about what a lot of the model car groups on Facebook are like, someone post a turd with some wheels attached too it, and its going to get 20 likes , and a few "well done" comments, and whats worse, someone post a very clean, nicely built model, and gets maybe three likes, and no comments. But the problem with a large portion of the FaceBook model groups, is they are probably mostly filled with "weekend" builders, so the bar isnt set very hight to start with. The worst one is the Model Car group, that by far will make you want to pull your eyeballs out. https://www.facebook.com/groups/14475736119/?fref=ts But, MCM is not the only forum were only "well done" comments are posted, most other forums are the same way, its just seems to be the norm that you tell the builder they did a good job, even if they didnt I can think of two forums were people will give feedback to builders , but its rare that it happens.

  21. Gerry, far as I am aware, Jame's was not trying to make a point of bringing "this stuff" back to the USA, he was just pointing out that all the latest release have all been pushed back. You are correct, its even happening with the big three across the pond, Aoshima is about a month behind at this point, kits that were scheduled to be released during the first to middle part of Oct, are just now getting released. On topic I am looking forward to the C7 kit.
  22. Thats been going on for awhile now.
