  1. I have their Hyundai Santa Fe. It is a very nice kit, kind of like an unassembled promo. My only complaint is there is almost no tolerance for paint thickness. I had to do a bit of filing on the body and the fender lips to get it to fit together. I expect the Wrangler is similar.
  2. Yeah, I think the carpet is the same 🙂 Seat patterns, dash, console, and door panels are definitely different on the 1998-up. Interior door handle position was moved a bit as well.
  3. The $400 KitchenAid stand mixers that didn't sell at Christmas hit the clearance cabinet for $200 in early January. Glad I check that part of the store when I am there.
  4. It is interesting to me how few "exclusive" parts went into the ZQ8 trucks. My utility vehicle that once was a daily driver is a 1994 2.2 5 speed that was originally owned by my neighbor two doors away. I bought it for $1500 in February 2008. I added junkyard ZQ8 sway bars and e-bay 1998 ZQ8 wheels. I didn't swap the steering box or springs. Added aftermarket Bilstein shocks. I can't believe how well it handles, but you have to deal with the pretty much zero acceleration. I have a Perry's Resin transkit that someday I will build.
  5. It's more than the dash. The seat upholstery patterns and the door panels are quite different as well. I hope this repop has an accurate 1998-2003 interior as well.
  6. Hole in the wall bars can be a lot of fun, especially at closing time. (whatever that is in your city/state/country)
  7. The best hubcaps are no hubcaps. Even better is a car with 4 wheels and 6 hubcaps.
  8. Two things they taught us in driver training last century: 1. Make sure you can see the rear tires of the car in front of you when stopped at a light. That way, if you get rear-ended, you are less likely to hit the car in front of you. 2. When stopped in a suicide left turn lane, keep your wheels straight. If you turn them to the left anticipating your turn, you will get booted into oncoming traffic if you get rear-ended. Aside: The teacher that taught me that rear-ended another car right in front of our high school while he was on the way to the other nearby high school that had the cars and facilities for driver training. Messed up his very nice 428-powered '66 Country Sedan 😞
  9. It is quite possible that some or all of the OEM licenses the kit makers have would not allow this without additional fees to expand their distribution territories. The company I work for does not make something you can hold in your hand, but we are an OE licensee for most of the major players. Some of the licenses are worldwide, some are not. It depends on the OEM. Mr. Goldman, Mr. Solie, and the others would have to confirm/deny this though.
  10. Wow. As we have discussed before, my M.I.L. lived off of Willow Creek near the old Hastings store from 1992 until her stroke and dementia kicked in and we brought her here in 2013. I don't remember ever hearing her talk about snow in Prescott in April. It seemed to be a winter thing that fell, thawed, and froze into icy patches around her neighborhood. I got her Explorer stuck in a slippery parking spot at Thumb Butte once when the spousal unit and I went there for a winter hike, but that would have been in December. Ford Touch Drive 4wd and an open rear differential was not optimal for backing out of a parking spot.
  11. Eggs are too expensive. We will be coloring potatoes this year.
  12. eat at Codmother https://www.codmother.com/ (Seriously guys, if you are doing stoopid tourist stuff in San Francisco and like fish and chips, this place is GOOD. I have a friend that lives there and he avoids the tourist traps like they have the plague, but he brings visitors to The Codmother because it is so darn good.)
  13. It is, but for 1999-2000. Shouldn't be on a 2002, they didn't have EGR in Camaros in 2002 so delete at will. Another example of model companies not being 100% accurate. There is a bracket there as well, so trim it back to the cylinder head.
  14. Mouth inspection of a giraffe requires a very tall stepladder
  15. Wild tree cow nests would be a bad place to park your convertible under.
  16. Day after day, I agree with Tim's sentiments, I don't want to walk outside and find a cow stuck in a tree.
  17. Most service manuals have body dimensions (frame dimensions, door openings, etc) for collision repair, but those kind of illustrations will most likely be hard to find free online for 1950s cars.
  18. High 70s, partly cloudy. Spent some no-shirt time (sorry for the visual) preparing an above ground box area that will have some cherry tomatoes and jalapenos (hopefully). Herbs will go into a different place when I get thyme (pun intended).
  19. Looks great! Just an FYI: Ford toploaders had a cast iron case with an aluminum bellhousing and (generally) an aluminum tailshaft housing. I like the "day 2" (day 1.5?) tires 🙂
  20. Just an FYI: A wet cell battery mounted inside the car or in the trunk should have caps that vent to the outside of the car. These are the caps that would have been on the original battery. You can probably find the original holes where the tubes vented.
  21. When they die, if my S.I.L.'s experience is any evidence. Her Rott's favorite chew toys were the inside windowsills. It lasted until she passed.
