  1. "Remember the Alamo", they said, but I would rather remember the a la mode.
  2. It appeared to me that the guy who verified mine was also checking to make sure the VIN was the same in all three places.
  3. Ours was a 2006 with ~26k miles in 2013. Guy looked at the VIN on the engine, the door decal, and the VIN on the dash and signed me off in about 5 minutes. The person that issued the plates in step 3 had about a room temperature IQ and didn't understand that it was a transfer from parent to child + child's spouse and tried to charge me like we had purchased the car.
  4. They will need to do a VIN verification on any vehicle brought in from out of state. Not a big deal, but it is an extra step in the process. It was waiting in line three times when I registered the M.I.L.'s Camry in our name. Once for paperwork, outside to a covered area with the car for the VIN verification, then back in line to get the plates/registration. In theory, they will want to collect the Oregon plate, so bring tools. They may give you a pass on that part, I don't know.
  5. My 1979 California house is like that. Outside outlets need to be on a GFI circuit.
  6. I have a few trucker friends, and one swears that Swift is actually an acronym for Sure Wish I Finished Training.
  7. That is definitely a "260" emblem on the fender. I think that is probably kind of rare in anything other than a Sprint, but it was definitely available. My parents' first new car was a 390 powered '64 Galaxie 500 in Dynasty Green
  8. I assume that is Canadian since that is where the listing is from. That would be about $35 USD.
  9. My 1961 Plymouth story? The mom of one of one of my elementary school classmates drove a robin's eggs blue 4-door that was probably a Savoy, maybe a Belvedere. It was really plain. By 1968-69, if there was a school field trip, none of the guys (and hardly any of the girls) would ride in that car. It was that fugly, nobody wanted to be seen in it. I think she finally gave up volunteering to drive.
  10. Sunsets in Canada are beautiful especially on Sunset Beach in Vancouver.
  11. His building style was amazing and he seemed like such a nice guy online. He will be remembered and missed here for a long time, along with Harry, Lee, and others we have lost.
  12. I have no idea why I bought this, since I absolutely hated these barges when they were new. I guess they have grown on me over the years. Resin trans kit from Paul Hettick arrived on Wednesday. The interior was mastered by our own forum member Tom Ellifritt. Donor kit arrived from Burbank's House of Hobbies today (neither HL or my LHS had one). I wish it didn't have vinyl top belt moldings. They are going to be a pain to BMF and I don't think I can do a decent job of removing them. Thinking dark blue, navy interior, black vinyl top. That means that the bodyside molding will have to be black as well.
  13. Right click. Are you a teacher? All the teachers I know mix up left and right because of years of facing the class 😁 (Unless you are left handed and have your mouse set up that way)
  14. The Revell '68 Mustang has rectangular non-remote mirrors and the AMT '67 Mustang has a semi-rectangular remote-style for the driver. Those are all the Ford mirrors I can think of off the top of my head.
  15. I bought a resin trans kit on eBay from Paul Hettick Sunday evening. He mailed it from Floriduh Monday morning and it was in my California mailbox yesterday (Wednesday). Pretty fast even for Priority Mail.
  16. Seller sixft4kid92c2 on FleaPay has a lot of promo and model fender and hood ornaments. The '59 Galaxie ones are $7.50 each, but they are nice.
