  1. The last time I was in Ontario, we arrived at a 4-way stop at the same time as a '67 SD396 convertible (like this pic). I have forgotten exactly where it was, but we were near the "wine country" in the vicinity of Niagara On The Lake. I love the way all the cool cars come out of hibernation when the weather is warm in Canada.
  2. Received mine today, Sacramento, CA area. Haven't opened it yet. It's my last issue on this subscription.
  3. We are in the throes of doing a kitchen remodel. Piled in the living room right now is a KitchenAid oven that was in stock at the local Lowes and an induction cooktop that they had to order. Both delivered. Also in the living room is a new garbage disposal that I saved around $80 on by buying it from Amazon on Prime Day. Just arrived today is a Blanco Silgranite sink, also ordered from Lowes online at around $100 discount plus a 10% discount for using my Lowes card with a coupon. I am dismayed by the demise of brick and mortar stores, but by buying online I can get what I want without moving my arse from this chair. It was accidental that the oven was in stock, but none of this other stuff was anywhere near here and would have been ordered if I drove to the store. I see the same thing with models. I have several new-ish releases from Round 2 and Revell that I have purchased online (from a LHS that isn't local to me) because my LHS never seemed to get them. I have never seen either the 65 or 68 GTO on the LHS shelf either.
  4. Those were Montereys. LAPD used the mid-sized Montego with a 351C-4V. I have no idea why Webb had the boys continue to drive the '69 Belvedere in 1970, unless he had an issue with Ford or something.
  5. If I can catch them, and if they would survive the trip by USPS from Sacramento to Bakersfield, I could ship you a dozen or so. They have stripped most of the bark off of a 30 year old Japanese Maple and basically killed it. Too bad that the resident coyotes prefer cats to squirrels.
  6. IIRC, the cooler in the radiator was added to help bring down passenger compartment heat, not to "cheapen" them. That is also why Ford added the air vents in the Thunderbird front fenders for 1956.
  7. Wild turkey "exhaust" as Bill calls it. It's amazing how much they can poop.
  8. Look at one of your squarebody models. The tank(s) were outside of the frame rails and were the "crash attenuators" in a t-bone crash. I am sure that more than a few caused fires when they ruptured, but I agree that explosions were probably fairly rare. I had a '77 SWB 4x4 for about 6 years during the OMG issgonnablowuppanic years, and I am still here ?
  9. The fix also included either a redesigned filler pipe or a redesigned attachment point to the quarter panel (I forgot which). This was designed to make the filler detach from the quarter panel before detaching from the tank and spilling fuel.
  10. I have the new '64 Malibu Craftsman and it has a steering wheel on a tree and a loose one in the bag. Maybe this is how they are dealing with the issue.....
  11. An ex-colleague of mine owned a slant 6 '69 Charger with 3 on the tree in the early 2000s. That is the only one that I am aware of that I personally saw.
  12. Received the short bed 1960 and 1963 F-100 conversions from Best Model Car Parts (along with some gauges) yesterday. They have the normal flashed-over openings, but it is tissue-paper thin. Very little flash elsewhere. Very clean castings overall.
  13. Connie kit, porthole top, and air vent in the fender make it the '56. Thanks for posting the instructions. I never had this kit and didn't realize how detailed it is.
  14. At least with him selling on eBay now, there may be some chance that he actually fulfils orders.
  15. Best Model Car Parts on eBay offers a shortbed '63 body and frame, as well as a short box and frame for the '60. I haven't purchased resin from Michael before, but it looks very nice. I ordered both last night and will share with you guys when I receive them.
  16. used parental insurance
  17. Premiums (like toy cars) used to be in cereal boxes, but alas no more.
  18. best gluebomb category
  19. It may be hearsay, but I heard the same thing although I forgot the source. It isn't that Goodyear won't license the name, it was because they no longer own it. They probably don't own most of their other non-current tire names either.
