  1. Is red oxide (or grey) primer as a final color on a floorpan considered paint or primer? Anything that requires cleanup or filling gets primer so I can make sure it won't show in the final paint. Anything else, maybe or maybe not. Black suspension parts, stainless exhaust, etc. typically doesn't get primer.
  2. Joseph at Fireball Modelworks makes a similar cap. These are the only Pontiac poverty caps I can remember seeing.
  3. Maybe embossing powder? It might be a little too textured, but it's what I thought of looking at the second photo.
  4. I store mine in a cup, tip end down. Seems to keep the tips moist. Maybe leaving yours in that position for a few days might restore it?
  5. I go through fits of kit-thinning on e-Bay, and you are exactly right. I use Priority Mail and a "normal" US kit is $14.20 pretty much anywhere east of the Mississippi for me. I ran out of Amazon A3 size boxes, so I bought some new 10x8x6 boxes from Amazon for a reasonable price. I have a 1:1 car distributor on my "to sell" list, and I will probably use a flat rate box for it because of the weight. I have excellent luck with Priority Mail (so far). I try to end my auctions on Friday evenings. If the buyer pays right away, I drop the package(s) at the local Post Office on Saturday morning. Even with "2-Day" Priority, the buyer usually has their kit on Monday unless they live a long way from a regional sorting center. I dropped off five boxes one Saturday and everyone had their kit on Monday, even the guy in Puerto Rico!
  6. Never mind. Already ordered one.
  7. Can you get a (reasonably sized) sticker with that? I needz one for my 2016 Mazda 3.
  8. Well, Testor's used to make it. Maybe find it on eBay or Amazon? I have one can that hasn't puked in the cabinet, and I hope to use it on my Revell 69 Boss.
  9. I hiked up Thumb Butte a few times and it was a lung challenge for me in my late forties. Of course, my home base is 96 feet above sea level.
  10. I would like to point out that Kurt is riding at 5500-6000' elevation.
  11. And a 6 volt battery Not something that even Bill would attempt in 1/25, but I believe that 55 had cooling vents in the torque converter housing and the 56 added a fluid cooler in the radiator tank. This and the fender vents were supposed to make the passenger compartment cooler. Or just throw away the FordOMatic and use a 3MT.
  12. 56 was 12 volt, 55 was 6 volt. Note the cabin air vents on the front fenders of the 56 as well.
  13. Beating the 100 degree heat at home, hanging out with a friend on the NorCal coast. Managed to pull this off in a strange kitchen and on a strange grill without many supplies. New York from Whole Paycheck, corn, salad, and an Oregon beer. Appetizer was an incredible tomato-lentil bruschetta on wheat crackers (friend made). Other pic was the view to my left as we were eating. I guess I should copy this to "what pleased you today).
  14. I don't know Dale, but in one of those "Small World" situations, I work with one of his sons. He and Dale have discussed him taking over the chrome business, but there is the issue of logistics since we are on the opposite side of the country and the equipment isn't exactly small or light and would cost a fortune to ship to California from Pennsylvania.
  15. Greenlight did the Breaking Bad vehicles, including a box truck with Los Pollos Hermanos logos. They even did Walt's Chrysler 300 and Walt Jr's Challenger. The "bad" thing is that they didn't make all of them in the same scale. If they had done them all in 1/64 I would have bought them all!
  16. I have one. It is very nice and looks like styrene. You won't be disappointed!
  17. Went to two more HLs today. Store one had a lot of kits left on clearance, but I didn't get anything. I did get a couple of the 1/64 semi truck cases for $3.24. I have three of them on my desk at work with 1/64 diecast cars sideways in them. I don't have any cars to add, but now that I have two more cases, I will get cars to fill them up. Store 2 is near my work and had almost nothing on clearance. Got the last 1/24 display case for $2.24 though. There must be something about individual store participation though. Yesterday's store and today's #1 stop had much more on clearance than today's #2 stop.
  18. Stopped at HL yesterday and these followed me home. I hadn't seen the Boss anywhere locally yet. They had the Owens on clearance, Mountain Goat, 1/32 firetruck as well. Might check another store today. I didn't need another Fairlane, but I couldn't help myself at the price. Wish they had the Monte Carlo. It's the only example I know of that has a correct 69-up big block.
  19. I pretty much look at new posts on the same subjects that many of you have mentioned. One difference is where I am when I view the forum. If I am at work, I either skip the under glass and workbench because my work blocks image sharing sites and many of you use Fotki, etc. I wait until I get home to look at them. I never look at drag racing and only look at NASCAR if I see a subject line that interests me (1960s -1974ish).
